Overview of the business

In response to the need to develop career education and vocational education that aims for social and occupational independence through elementary and secondary education to higher education, the Kyoto High School Collaborative Research Council has been working since 2012 with the aim of motivating high school students to learn for the future and contributing to the promotion of career education at each school. Career Education" project has been launched.

High School and University Collaboration Future Session

The High School-University Collaboration Future Session is a program that aims to promote the career development of high school and university students, and sets a theme each time, and dialogues and exchanges on that theme across generations and schools, such as high school students, university students, and working adults.

In fiscal 2021, as in the previous fiscal year, executive committee members will be recruited from high school and university students in Kyoto Prefecture, and the executive committee will take the lead in creating general planning such as the theme, guests, and program structure of the day, as well as information leaflets, etc., and will be responsible for public relations and management of the day.

Amid major changes in values and social conditions, this program planned by the Executive Committee will be held as follows from the perspective of what are the interests of high school and university students in the new ways of "learning," "working," and "living" in the future.

Let's talk about a society that respects diversity! ~The ideal way of Japan from the perspective of gender issues~

With the spread of the new coronavirus infection, uncertain information is confusing and confusion is occurring. In addition, gender issues have become apparent in recent years, and disparities are emerging in the world. LGBTQ is often reported in the news, but I think there are many high school and university students who do not feel close to it.
In light of this situation, why don't you first think about what you can do to create a society where "no one is left behind" for high school and university students, starting with gender issues?
In this Future Session, we hope to create opportunities for LGBTQ people of the same age who are also entrepreneurs to deepen their understanding and have a sense of ownership by taking up issues in the world and discussing the current situation of Japan in the wake of gender issues.
In addition, it will be a place for high school and university students to interact and interact with high school students, university students, and working adults in order to make the most of each individual's individuality and cultivate the "thinking ability" necessary for entering society.

Akira Oka (CEO of First Penguin Co., Ltd.) A second-year high school student who is LGBTQ. While attending an international high school, he is active as a high school entrepreneur. He appears in various media such as television, newspapers, and radio to express his opinions. Currently, I am not only talking about LGBT issues, but also holding workshops to think about the importance of having a dream, everyone is a minority, and what it really means to be yourself.

Please note. * When participating at the venue, please note the following points. (1) Be sure to wear a mask and disinfect your hands with the disinfectant installed at the venue.
(2) If you have symptoms such as fever (fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, etc.), please refrain from visiting the venue.
(3) Please bring a handkerchief or hand towel, and wipe your hands thoroughly after washing your hands.

Implementation Report

On Sunday, November 7, we held the 2021 High School and University Collaboration Future Session. This year, the event was held in a hybrid format of face-to-face and online, and a total of 26 people, 22 face-to-face and 4 online, (11 of whom were executive committee members) from high school and university students from Kyoto Prefecture gathered.
As in the previous fiscal year, the executive committee members who were in charge of planning and operation gathered at the venue and served as preparations for the day, moderated the event, facilitated group work, and secretaries.
This time, under the theme of "Let's discuss a society that respects diversity!~The ideal state of Japan from the perspective of gender issues~", Mr. Kyoka Oka, CEO of First Penguin Co., Ltd., who was welcomed as a guest, gave a lecture, and during the Q&A session, questions from the participants and Mr. Oka were asked more questions, deepening the dialogue between guests and participants.
After that, in the group talk session, the participants were divided into two groups on the themes "Use of multipurpose toilets," "The boundary between distinction and discrimination," and "What is one's individuality," and shared opinions and dialogues with each other while incorporating the World Café.
Participants were exposed to various ideas through interaction with students from other schools, students from other universities, and guests who they would not normally meet, and deepened their understanding of diversity, individuality, and respect for their own individuality, which was a great opportunity for them to realize and learn.
