The event was held in a hybrid format and online, and was attended by a total of 24 people (10 at the venue and 14 online), including high school teachers from inside and outside Kyoto Prefecture.
The theme was “What is the Role of Teachers in Comprehensive Inquiry Time: How Does Inquiry Change Teachers’ Identity?”, and Mr. Satoshi Tatana, a teacher at Miyazu Gakusha at Miyazu Tenbashi High School in Kyoto Prefecture, reported on a case study. Through the question-and-answer session and the exchange of opinions, the participants were able to deepen their interaction with each other and with the case presenters.

The 14th Symposium

On Saturday, October 15, the event was held in a hybrid format as the second installment under the same theme as the 13th Kyoto High School Teacher Exchange Meeting, inviting different case reporters. This time, in addition to high school teachers, university faculty and staff, business and educational professionals gathered, and a total of 13 people (7 at the venue and 6 online) were able to create a place for exchange and exchange of opinions.
Ms. Nao Takada, a teacher at Horikawa High School in Kyoto City, reported on Horikawa High School’s research activities as a case study, and through a question-and-answer session with participants and group work, it was an opportunity to deepen learning and awareness of what kind of change inquiry brings not only to students but also to teachers.

The 15th Symposium

On Saturday, December 17, the first meeting was renamed the “Kyoto High School and University Faculty and Staff Exchange Meeting,” and was held in a hybrid format under the theme of “How do students who have experienced inquiry grow at the university?”
Although the number of participants was small, 8 people, 6 in the venue and 2 online, there were also students in the venue in addition to the 3 students who had experience in exploring case reporters, so the participants were highly satisfied with the diverse exchanges that transcended the positions of high school and university faculty and university students. In addition, being able to listen to the voices of university students was also a reference for faculty and staff in thinking about the design and role of inquiry-based learning in the future.

The 16th Symposium

On Saturday, February 4, we held a hybrid exchange meeting between Kyoto and high school faculty and university staff with four students with different case reports on the same theme as the 15th meeting. A total of 17 people participated, including high school and university faculty and staff from inside and outside Kyoto Prefecture, 5 at the venue and 12 online.
After a case report by four students who had experienced the inquiry, the students were asked questions compiled in group work at the venue and online, and the students were able to learn and deepen their awareness of the results of the research. Although the number of participants at the venue was small, it was an opportunity for casual interaction through the exchange of business cards and dialogue, such as after the end and after the closing.

Inquiries

University Consortium Kyoto, Educational Development Division, High School-University Collaboration Project
Tel: 075-353-9153 FAX: 075-353-9101
〒600-8216 Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto-shi, Nishitoin-dori, Shiokoji, Shimo-ku, Kyoto, Campus Plaza Kyoto
* Reception hours: Tuesday ~ Saturday 9:00 ~ 17:00 (excluding year-end and New Year holidays)

Business Overview Kyoto High School Teacher Exchange Meeting (Kyoto High School and University Teacher Exchange Meeting) Implementation Report Inquiries Business Overview In order to contribute to the resolution of issues faced by each school and the improvement of education, we launched the “High School and University Faculty and University Teacher Exchange Program” in 2018 with the aim of sharing ideas and concerns about school and homeroom management, class improvement, etc., and interacting with each other to solve them.
