As competition among universities is expected to intensify further due to the long-term decline in the number of 18-year-olds, it is necessary to actively disseminate the appeal of Kyoto as a “university city and a city of students” to junior high and high school students who will become university students in the future.
Therefore, as a new collaborative initiative, the University Consortium Kyoto and Kyoto City have established the “Kyoto Student Public Relations Department” to disseminate to junior and senior high school students nationwide from the perspective of students the “real charm of Kyoto” that university students studying in Kyoto experience while living their student life.
The Kyoto Student Public Relations Department will disseminate the charms of university life in Kyoto, which students have planned, interviewed, and written about, through the dedicated website “Kotokare,” SNS, events, etc.<\/p>\n

Based on the idea of the name devised by the Kyoto Student Public Relations Club at the workshop, it was decided by a vote of the club members.
It is an abbreviation for “College in the Ancient Capital,” and while expressing the uniqueness of Kyoto and the school, we chose a name that is easy for junior high and high school students to remember and is familiar with.
The student PR team was supervised by a professional designer and created the following logo.<\/p>\n
The vertical and horizontal lines represent the paths that various students are walking, and when those students intersect in various ways, they become one circle = community and connect.
It also includes the element of a “grid” in which the streets are perpendicular to the north-south and east-west, which is also a characteristic of the city of Kyoto.<\/p>\n

Event Report<\/h4>\n
\nIn addition to the welcome party for new students of the Kyoto Student Public Relations Department, we held a training session on the theme of how to conduct interviews and write articles. On the day of the event, 22 students participated, and Professor Satoshi Horikawa (Associate Professor, Department of Media and Communication, Faculty of Foreign Studies, Kyoto Sangyo University), who has experience as a reporter for mass media, was invited as a lecturer.
\nIn the lecture, he talked about the structure of articles and headline patterns using actual news as examples, taught me the key points of coverage (time management, manners, preparation, etc.), and there were Mr.\/Ms. who were able to put things into practice right away, and I was impressed by how eagerly everyone listened while taking notes.
\nIn the second half of the work, the students were divided into groups and asked to come up with the title of the article that was distributed and the content of the article that would make them want to go to a university in Kyoto. All the groups were lively and excited.
\nAfter the workshop, many participants commented, “It was exciting because it was the first time I actually heard from a former reporter,” and “It was very helpful to make new discoveries about what to pay attention to when writing Mr.\/Ms. article,” indicating that the training session was full of learning and awareness.\n<\/p>\n

Under the theme of “portrait photography,” which is useful for interviews, lectures and photography practice were held.
\nIn the practical training, the students were divided into two groups and took pictures. Participants were also very interested in the full-fledged equipment like a photo studio. In a friendly atmosphere, the participants gave each other advice on how to shoot and learned the depth of expression with the camera.\n<\/p>\n

\nWe held a small training session for camera beginners for Kyoto Student Public Relations Department members who are “interested in cameras” and “want to learn about cameras in the future.”\u3000In the first half of the workshop, we received a lecture on the structure and basic operation of the camera, and in the second half, we held a photo session. I learned how to photograph donuts and cups of my subjects while changing the camera settings, lighting, and shooting angles, and how to shoot them in an attractive way.\n<\/p>\n

\nOn September 17th, a photo session was held at the Shinto Garden of Heian Jingu Shrine. In addition to members of the Kyoto Student Public Relations Department, 23 students who love cameras and belong to photography clubs participated in the event, and they were seen holding cameras in various places in the vast Shinto Garden.\n<\/p>\n

\nAfter the photo session, an exchange meeting was held in the hall of Heian Jingu Shrine for all the participants and the priests. Each participant was asked to choose the best shot from the photos taken by Mr.\/Ms., and after sharing it with the whole group, the best three photos were selected by voting. Not only the best three, but all of the photos are wonderful photos that shine with the sense of the photographer, and you can feel the beauty of the Shinto Garden of Heian Jingu. Although it was a short time, even the participants who had never met each other for the first time seemed to be able to talk excitedly through the common point of “camera”. The Kyoto Student Public Relations Club also held an event to learn about the charm of Heian Jingu Shrine and the joy of cameras.\n<\/p>\n

\nAfter graduating from a regular university, he passed the civil service examination and joined the government. In addition to his work, he has taken a wide range of photographs on the theme of “travel” in Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Russia, Iceland, etc. In addition, he entered the University of the Arts at the same time, where he conducted recurrent education for about six years.
\nHis documentary works have been exhibited in museums and galleries in Kyoto, Tokyo, Osaka, and Paris.\n<\/p>\nEvent Report<\/h4>\n
\nWe held a small training session for camera beginners for Kyoto Student Public Relations Department members who are “interested in cameras” and “want to learn about cameras in the future.”\u3000In the first half of the workshop, we received a lecture on the structure and basic operation of the camera, and in the second half, we held a photo session. I learned how to photograph donuts and cups of my subjects while changing the camera settings, lighting, and shooting angles, and how to shoot them in an attractive way.\n<\/p>\n

“Heian Jingu Photo Session”<\/h2>\n
As a joint project between Heian Jingu and the Kyoto Student Public Relations Department, we held a “Heian Jingu Photo Session” with the aim of letting all Mr.\/Ms. students know the charm of Heian Jingu’s Shinto Garden.<\/p>\n

\nOn September 17th, a photo session was held at the Shinto Garden of Heian Jingu Shrine. In addition to members of the Kyoto Student Public Relations Department, 23 students who love cameras and belong to photography clubs participated in the event, and they were seen holding cameras in various places in the vast Shinto Garden.\n<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n\nAfter the photo session, an exchange meeting was held in the hall of Heian Jingu Shrine for all the participants and the priests. Each participant was asked to choose the best shot from the photos taken by Mr.\/Ms., and after sharing it with the whole group, the best three photos were selected by voting. Not only the best three, but all of the photos are wonderful photos that shine with the sense of the photographer, and you can feel the beauty of the Shinto Garden of Heian Jingu. Although it was a short time, even the participants who had never met each other for the first time seemed to be able to talk excitedly through the common point of “camera”. The Kyoto Student Public Relations Club also held an event to learn about the charm of Heian Jingu Shrine and the joy of cameras.\n<\/p>\n

This event aims to let people know about the charms of Kyoto universities and student life while enjoying comedy in Kyoto.

\nOn Sunday, February 4, 2024, Yoshimoto Gion Hanazuki and the Kyoto Student Public Relations Department collaborated to hold “Kyoto Student Public Relations Department presents Gion Hanazuki University ~Alumni and OGs are back!?Homecoming Day 2024~”.\n<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n\nOn the day of the event, many Mr.\/Ms. were seated on the second floor, and many students who were the target of this event also attended.
\nWhen the event started, Mr.\/Ms., a performer entertainer, appeared as the opening and a free talk was held.\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n\nAfter that, Mr.\/Ms. of each duo presented their stories, and there was a burst of laughter from the audience.
\nAfter enjoying the story, there will be a corner planned by the members of the Kyoto Student Public Relations Club, which will be a consultation session for university students and an introduction to student organizations in Kyoto.
\nAt the consultation meeting, we took up the concerns that were recruited from the general public in advance, and the public relations department served as judges, and all the comedians Mr.\/Ms. came up with solutions.
\nIt was a time when various interesting advice was given and episodes of Mr.\/Ms.’s student days were heard.\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n\nAfter the consultation session, we went to a corner that introduced student organizations in Kyoto, which are full of individuality.

\nThere were some sports that I had never seen before, and all Mr.\/Ms.the spectators seemed to be cheering on the participating comedians Mr.\/Ms. and having a lot of fun together.
\nIn the hero show, the comedian Mr.\/Ms. who played the villain defeated the hero, and the entire venue was enveloped in a whirlpool of laughter.\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n\nIt was the first collaboration event with Yoshimoto and Gion Hanazuki in five years, and thanks to the Mr.\/Ms. of Yoshimoto and Gion Hanazuki, all Mr.\/Ms.the comedians, and everyone in the student group, we were able to finish it Mr.\/Ms. great success.
\nIn the questionnaire for the event, we received many positive comments, such as “The content was substantial” and “It was an event that was easy for students to participate in, so I would like to see more of it.”
