In light of the current situation where there are few opportunities to connect high schools and special needs schools (hereinafter referred to as &#8220;high schools, etc.&#8221;) and universities regarding support for students with disabilities, we will hold a roundtable to exchange information and interact with faculty and staff involved in supporting students with disabilities at high schools and universities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/page\/150236\/topimg_kodai2026.webp\" width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"pageLink02\">Outline of the event<\/h3>\n<dl class=\"dl_list01-2\">\n<dt>1. Purpose<\/dt>\n<dd class=\"clear pl2\">\nWe will hold group meetings with high school teachers involved in education and career guidance for high school students with disabilities (such as physical disabilities, mental or developmental disabilities), and other guidance and support. After sharing topics about the current support provided at universities (such as considerations during entrance exams, academic support, and on-campus support systems), we will hold group-specific meetings. Additionally, as university faculty and staff, we aim to make this a meaningful meeting for both sides as an opportunity to learn about difficulties faced by high schools and career guidance in support and career guidance, as well as their requests for universities.\n<\/dd>\n<dt>2. Now that reasonable accommodation has become a legal obligation even at private universities, we believe that understanding and considering the differences in support for students with disabilities between high schools and universities will lead to smoother connections for students.<br \/>In Topic Provision (1), we will introduce the current state of support for students with disabilities at universities, along with the concept of mandatory reasonable accommodations and case studies of support for students with physical disabilities. High school teachers and other institutions are encouraged to prepare issues related to support for students with disabilities in various aspects such as learning, daily life, and career paths, as well as questions for universities.
