Since 2004, the University Consortium Kyoto has been offering note-taker training courses for beginners for students and faculty members who are trying to engage in note-taking activities for the first time, sponsored by the Kyoto City Welfare Volunteer Center. In addition, since FY2016, we have been conducting a computer (PC) taker training course following the note-taker training course.
In recent years, many students with hearing impairments have been studying at universities, and there is a need for “information security” in lectures. Typical methods of response are “note-taking” and “PC takeing” to convey lecture information to students with hearing impairments.
The training of note-takers and PC takers has become popular at various universities, but there are quite a few universities that lack the accumulation of teaching methods and know-how. In addition, many universities have various problems such as lack of experience as takers and securing human resources.
This course is held with the aim of training as many takers as possible and building a community related to note-taking and PC taking through the experiences of takers (supporters) and their users, lectures and practices on the basic understanding of note-taking and PC takes

\n In recent years, as many students with hearing impairments are studying at universities, there is a demand for “information security” for lectures, and one of the types of information security in writing is “note-taking” and “computer (PC) take” to convey lecture information to students with hearing impairments.
During this period, the training of student note-takers and PC takers has become popular at each university, but the progress of teaching methods and know-how construction varies from university to university, and some universities are said to be not doing enough to make sufficient efforts. In addition, there are many universities that have various problems such as lack of experience in takers and securing human resources.
Under these circumstances, the revised Act on the Elimination of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities will come into effect in April 2024, making reasonable accommodations mandatory for each university.
This course aims to provide a course that allows students to learn about the ideal and issues of support at small and medium-sized universities by providing an opportunity to learn about the advantages and disadvantages of various speech recognition software in addition to remote PC take, as well as how to operate them, due to the recent evolution of ICT.<\/p>\n
