As Sao Ichikawa, a Akutagawa Prize-winning author, conveyed, there are still many social barriers for people with disabilities to enjoy reading.
Educational institutions also face many challenges, such as a shortage of accessible teaching materials, delays in data conversion at support sites, poor collaboration between libraries and support offices for students with disabilities, and inadequate systems for sharing accessible materials.
Therefore, this training will provide an overview of legal systems related to barrier-free reading and the latest case studies, and examine what kinds of responses and collaborations are actually possible in educational settings.
Reading is the gateway to learning and the foundation of education. Creating an environment where every student can access the information they need in the right way is a vital mission for university stakeholders.
Through this workshop, let’s think together about concrete steps toward the future of accessible books.

14：50

Break

15：00

Reading Barrier-Free Workshop

16：15

Conclusion

16：30

closing

10.
