[For member schools] Applications are being accepted for 2016 “Kyoto World Heritage PBL Subjects”

The University Consortium Kyoto, in collaboration with the Tomorrow’s Kyoto Cultural Heritage Platform, has established the “Kyoto World Heritage PBL Course” as a credit transfer course since 2015, which develops PBL in the field of world cultural heritage in Kyoto.
Set in the world heritage site of Kyoto, which has cultural and historical significance, a major feature of this course is that students can come together beyond the framework of the university through the credit transfer system and study together in PBL. “Kyoto”, the city of universities, and “Kyoto”, the city of history. Learning that can only be done in Kyoto is condensed into this subject.
In 2015, 7 courses were offered through partnerships between 6 world heritage shrines and temples in Kyoto and 6 universities, and approximately 80 students from 11 universities took the courses.
*PBL: PBL (Project Based Learning) is problem discovery and solution type learning. Mainly through group learning, students discover problems and propose solutions. Through this process, we aim to nurture various abilities and develop human resources who can play an active role in unpredictable times.

We are currently accepting applications for the 2016 Kyoto World Heritage PBL Course.
