University-Community Collaboration Symposium

In collaboration with Kyoto City, the Foundation will widely disseminate examples of collaboration between universities and students and local communities in the city, and will hold the "University-Community Collaboration Symposium" as an opportunity for universities, students, and local organizations involved in regional cooperation activities to interact.

On the day of the event, in addition to case studies by universities that have been selected for the "Cooperative University for Learning" Promotion Project, a talk session is scheduled with students and local residents.
Why don't you find hints for further deepening cooperation with the possibility of new collaboration between universities and students and the community, aiming for further regional revitalization!

On Saturday, November 8, the 2021 "University-Community Collaboration Symposium" was held at Campus Plaza Kyoto.

<Part 1> In Part 1, we presented case studies by schools that have been selected for the "Cooperative University of Learning" promotion project.

Research the region and listen to their voices: Learning through YouTube video production in Hanazono University's
"Problem Solving Program" Professor Shigeki Shigeki, professor of the Faculty of Letters at Hanazono University, focused on the efforts of the "Problem Solving Program" that can be taken regardless of undergraduate department, which is a regular course of regional cooperation. He talked about the progress and thoughts of the community cooperation activities he has been involved in.

Learning about SDGs for environmental conservation throughout the city: Community collaboration activities in collaboration with shopping malls Dr. Sakiko Yoshida, Director of the Center for Community Collaboration at Kyoto Koka Women's University and Professor of the Department of Career Development, mainly introduced how students plan to implement SDGs-related

Challenge of high school-university collaborative active learning in the Mukokujima area using online tools
Dr. Yoshie Inoue, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Policy Studies, Ryukoku University, talked about regional collaboration activities in the Fushimi area, focusing on the efforts of Kyoto Bunkyo University and Kyoto Subaru High School, which are collaborating, from the perspective of online utilization and high school-university collaboration.

Dr. Takayuki Ogawa, Professor of the Department of Occupational Therapy, Faculty of Health Sciences, Kyoto Tachibana University, talked about the importance of "connection" centered on problem-solving implemented at the housing complex and initiatives such as multi-generational exchange using online.
