Overview of the business

The University Recurrent Education Relay Course is designed to introduce the contents and results of the recurrent education program implemented by the University Consortium Kyoto member universities for "working people and generations" with the aim of expanding opportunities for learning at universities. While experiencing the appeal of learning in the "University Town of Kyoto", why don't you think about how to learn and work in the future?

There are no special qualifications. Anyone who is interested in the theme of each course can participate.

Each course is a separate course and is free of charge. Each must be applied separately.

Japan's Social Security System ~Can the state be relied on in an emergency?~

This is an opportunity to understand the outline of the social security system and to think about one's current living situation and future life regarding national pension insurance, long-term care insurance, employment insurance, etc. We will briefly introduce the significance and mutual aid of not only relying on mutual help (social security system) from the perspective of self-help, mutual help, mutual help, and public assistance, but also utilizing self-help (reviewing one's own work style) and mutual aid (activities carried out in the community).

June 12 (Sat) Ritsumeikan University
"Fostering Social Work Professional Course" ~Human Resource Development for Foster Parent Support~

With the support of the Japan Foundation, this course has been conducted since FY2019 for current social workers at child guidance centers and private foster parent support organizations involved in foster parent support at the Institute of Human Sciences, Ritsumeikan University. The main purpose of this program is to develop leaders, with 30% classroom lectures and 70% group work, with students learning from each other at the center of learning. In the relay course, we will also introduce the foster care system and the voices of the participants.

to Make Contemporary Use of Historical Buildings -From the Kyoto Institute
of Technology Recurrent Education Program "Heritage Architect Training Course"-

Based on the accumulation of education and research to date, Kyoto Institute of Technology launched a new recurrent education program for working adults, the "Heritage Architect Training Course," in fiscal 2020. In this relay course, we will introduce the outline of the education that aims to train "heritage architects," who have a high level of ability to design, preserve, regenerate and propose the use of living heritage by specializing in architectural practice.

Psychology of Consumer Behavior Aiming for "Self-Understanding" to Protect Consumer Interests

The psychological understanding of consumer behavior is an important theme for companies, and methods based on psychological theories are often used in sales promotion activities. This has led to consumer misperceptions regarding the evaluation of products and services, resulting in many cases of disadvantage. In this course, we will explain advertising strategies and in-store sales promotion activities based on the theories of psychology and behavioral economics. We hope to contribute to consumer protection by promoting consumers' own objective self-understanding.
