【Activities】 About the "4th Kitashirakawa Children's Cafeteria "Karafuru"

On Saturday, October 14, we visited the "Kitashirakawa Children's Cafeteria" by "Karafuru" active in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City.

With that in mind, they are active mainly at the Kitashirakawa Children's Center.

This time, as a collaboration project with the student group "Trigger Cafeteria" that introduces ingredients from Tohoku in Kyoto, a talk show about the Great East Japan Earthquake and a show of dismantling autumn salmon were held. On the day of the event, guitar playing was also performed, and the children seemed to enjoy participating from beginning to end in a cheerful and easy-to-talk atmosphere.

【Activities】Fushimi Fukakusa-Higashitakase River Environmental Protection and Jizo Basin Project

We would like to introduce the efforts of the "Ryukoku University-Higashitakasegawa Environmental Protection and Jizo Bon Project Team" adopted this year.
In Fushimi Ward, the Ryukoku University-Higashi-Takase River Environmental Protection and Jizo Bon Project Team is working with local organizations, neighborhood associations and neighborhood associations, and students of Fushimi Technical High School to think about environmental protection through cleanup activities on the Higashi-Takase River, and to plan and implement the Jizo Basin, in which everyone from children to the elderly can actively participate.
We have received an activity report on the Jizo Basin held this year, so please take a look.

"This year's bamboo lanterns are handmade by students, high school students, and local residents [Friday, July 14]"

The last year students of Kyoto Municipal Fushimi Technical High School, who have been working on environmental problems in the Higashi-Takase River for a long time, as well as TUFS students, and local people gathered to make bamboo lanterns by hand for this year's Jizo Basin. With lessons from local executives, high school and university students worked together to make 40 pieces in one and a half hours.

Bamboo lanterns are lit in collaboration with high school students, university students, and local residents, and the results of joint work are lit on the Higashi-Takase River on the night of the Jizo Basin. Now, the Jizo Basin in Kawakubo Town is the "bamboo lantern" of the Higashi-Takase River, and it seems that it has completely taken root.

"Jizo Bon in Kawakubo Town【August 19 (Sat)】

This year's bamboo lanterns are handmade in collaboration with students, high school students, and local residents. When I combined the scraps and drew the words "Kawakubo Town", the local people were delighted with this surprise.

The popular events were the evening fireworks, the flooping punch with watermelons hollowed out, and of course, the bamboo lanterns on the Higashi-Takase River, which are now the main event of the Kawakubo Town Jizo Basin and were enjoyed by many people.

When the children's favorite anime song plays, everyone starts singing. Mr. Tozaki gave a big round of applause from everyone. We felt a sense of accomplishment that brought the venue together through our project.
