Extension of the opening period of the study space at Campus Plaza Kyoto

In order to support students’ learning, Kyoto City and the University Consortium Kyoto have collaborated to open a learning space equipped with a Wi-Fi environment and other facilities at Kyoto City University’s Town Exchange Center (nickname: Campus Plaza Kyoto) from June 9 to August 31, Reiwa 2 as part of the “Project for Creating an Environment for Student Learning.”

We would like to inform you that we will be extending the opening period of the learning space after reviewing some operations.

Please note that the following changes will be made after September 1st.

・The location is Campus Plaza Kyoto 6th floor, 6th Lecture Room, and 20 seats are available per section.

・The time zone of the usage classification will change.

Morning (9:00~12:40), Afternoon (13:00~17:40), Evening (18:00~21:00)

・Laptops are not available for rent. (Printers are available)

・ The management staff will not be stationed in the rental room at all times, but will patrol each time. As a general rule, please use it at the user’s own management.

 

* Please be sure to bring items that can confirm your eligibility (student ID, etc.) and seat reservation details (smartphone screen, etc.) as the management staff may check them.

Due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, many universities are conducting remote classes, and securing a learning environment where students can learn with peace of mind has become an issue.

In light of this situation, in order to support student learning, the University Consortium Kyoto and Kyoto City will collaborate to open a study space with a Wi-Fi environment and other facilities at Campus Plaza Kyoto and recruit student staff.

About Student Learning Spaces

At Campus Plaza Kyoto, we will provide an environment where Wi-Fi can be used, laptops and printers for rent, and a study space for students who can take remote classes and study on their own.

Campus Plaza Kyoto (939 Higashishiokoji-cho, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto) 5 minutes each from Kyoto Station

There are three divisions of 9:00~21:00 in the morning, afternoon, and night, and three categories can be used in one day.

* The usage time of the study space is fixed, so if you are using it for remote classes, please pay attention to the start and end times of the class.

Up to 150 people per day (varies from day to day depending on the availability of rental meeting rooms at Campus Plaza Kyoto) )

Recruitment of Student Staff [Closed]

We are looking for short-term temporary staff (part-time jobs) to work as receptionists for student study spaces for university students whose economic situation has deteriorated due to the closure or suspension of employment at part-time jobs due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, or a decrease in work shifts.

Reception of students using the study space, preparation, tidying up, and patrolling the study space, management of printers, temperature measurement of users (non-contact), etc.

* We will lend you necessary hygiene items (face shields, masks, etc.).

(5) Contract period

Tuesday, June 9, 2020 ~ Monday, August 31, 2020 *No renewal, trial period available

(6) Working hours and remuneration

・ Actual work 6 hours between 8:45 ~ 21:15 (no break) * Working days and hours are available for consultation

・ Work about 1~3 days a week (work will be based on a shift system)

・ Hourly wage 1,120 yen + transportation expenses (payment standards apply)

* If you work 2 days a week (8 days a month), about 50,000 yen per month

Closure of the café on the 1st floor

Cafe Kenya, which was open on the 1st floor of Campus Plaza Kyoto, has closed as of the end of March 2020. As a result, the coffee delivery service to the hotel’s meeting rooms has also ended.
