—Kyoto International Student Film Festival—

This year marks the 17th anniversary of the Kyoto International Student Film Festival, which is the largest international student film festival in Japan, planned and operated mainly by Kyoto students.

This year, it will be held at Kyoto Cinema from Saturday, November 22nd to Friday, November 28th .

Every year, we solicit video works created by students from Japan and abroad, and the students themselves judge and screen them.This year, too, we aim to make the film festival a wide range of students to participate, and we will help translate the subtitles of the films to be screened . We are looking for volunteer staff who can help.

1. Content

Japanese ⇔ English translation work (work from home) for creating subtitles for screened works.

It takes about a month from September to October.

* As a reward for your cooperation, we will present an invitation ticket during the film festival and, if you wish, a DVD with subtitles.

2. Recruitment period

From July 3, 2014 (Thursday) until the number of applicants is reached (recruitment closed)

3. Subject

University students, graduate students, and vocational school students who meet the following conditions.

・People who are interested in movies and translations.

・Those who are proficient in foreign languages ​​such as English (TOIEC score of 750 or higher or level Pre-1 of the English Proficiency Test is preferred).

・ Those who can participate in the briefing session held in Kyoto.

* If you are willing to cooperate even if you cannot meet the above criteria, please feel free to contact us.


4. Briefing session

We will hold an explanatory meeting (rules such as character limit) for creating subtitles. Please attend one of the dates below.

◆Schedule: August 6th (Wednesday) and 10th (Sunday), 2014
* About 2 hours

◆Place: Campus Plaza Kyoto   (West side of JR Kyoto station building parking lot, in front of Bic Camera)
