[For high school teachers] Recruiting participants for the 4th Kyoto High School Teachers’ Exchange Meeting on Thursday, November 7th

The “Kyoto High School Teachers Exchange Meeting” is a place to exchange ideas and concerns about the management of schools and homerooms, improvement of classes, etc., and to share thoughts toward solutions, regardless of school or establishment.
This time, we will hold the 4th as follows.
In the 4th session, we will discuss and interact with each other about the creation of lessons, the development of teaching materials, and their evaluation, etc., centering on the research theme of science and mathematics research.
In the 2020 revision of the Course of Study, a new subject of “Exploration of Science and Mathematics” was established with the aim of “cultivating highly creative human resources who can bring about the creation of knowledge through academic research in the future.” In implementing this new subject, some high school students have voiced concerns about issues such as the selection of research themes and the development of a teaching system, and it is necessary to address these issues. Many high schools who struggle with mathematics, especially mathematics research themes, may not be able to systematically organize why it is so difficult. In addition, from the perspective of improving the quality of research, there is also a shortage of faculty colleagues who can research and evaluate the selection of research themes themselves and consider them together. It may be possible to get hints from the practice case reports of research themes that have already been implemented and the individual research tasks of research activities such as SSH.
At this faculty exchange meeting, we would like to share the current issues and collaborate with high school and university teachers to find hints for solving these issues and think about the meaning of mathematics research.

We understand that you are busy, but we look forward to your active participation. Also, I would appreciate it if you could talk to the teachers you know.
