FY2020

About Kyoto Student Public Relations Department (Project Overview)

11th_seisaku_2015

As competition among universities is expected to intensify further due to the long-term decline in the 18-year-old population, it is necessary to actively communicate the appeal of Kyoto as a "university town and student city" to junior high and high school students who will become university students in the future.
Therefore, as a new collaborative initiative, the University Consortium Kyoto and Kyoto City have established the "Kyoto Student Public Relations Department" to convey to junior and senior high school students nationwide the "real charm of Kyoto" that university students studying in Kyoto experience while living their student lives.
The Kyoto Student Public Relations Department will disseminate the appeal of university life in Kyoto that students planned, interviewed, and created articles on the dedicated website "Kotokare", SNS, events, etc.

Kotokare's Policy

Based on the name idea devised by the Kyoto Student Public Relations Department members at the workshop, the decision was made by a vote of the members.
The name is an abbreviation of "College in the Ancient Capital" and expresses the uniqueness of Kyoto and the school, while making it easy for junior high and high school students to remember and become familiar.
Under the supervision of a professional designer, the student communications staff also created the following logo.

kotocolle
The vertical and horizontal lines represent the paths that various students are walking, and express that by interacting with them in various ways, one circle = community and connect.
It also includes the characteristic of the city of Kyoto, the "grid eye" of the streets, which are perpendicular to the north-south and east-west.

Pass Prayer Ema Project

With the aim of supporting examinees nationwide who are worried about the corona disaster, we planned the "Pass Prayer Ema Project" and solicited wishes to be dedicated to Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, which is the general headquarters of Tenmangu Shrine nationwide and is known as the god of learning.

Event Report

From Thursday, November 5, 2020 to Monday, January 4, 2021, 109 wishes were received for university life in Kyoto. Gathered from all over the country. The collected wishes were hung on a large ema (made of wood "Miyako Kiki" produced in Kyoto City) drawn by members of the Kyoto Student Public Relations Department, and accompanied by messages of support from the club members, prayers for passing the exam and praying for the fulfillment of their wishes were made at Kitano Tenmangu Shrine.

On the day of the event, it was a warm spring cheerfulness, and plum blossom buds were beginning to open here and there at Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, and it was a dedication ceremony that made me think that I was able to deliver the wishes of the examinees to Tenjin-sama (Sugawara Michishin).
