Business overview
As part of lifelong learning, we have been working with Kyoto City since 1997 to provide university courses to the general public through “City College.” In 2007, the name was changed to “Kyoto (Miyako) College,” and as a lifelong learning initiative to meet the increasingly sophisticated and diverse learning needs of working adults, approximately 30 universities and junior colleges offer distinctive courses and open lectures.

Course classification
- University lectures : Take university classes with students. *Some courses allow you to earn credits.
- Public education courses : A wide variety of public courses on history, culture, art, languages, health, social issues, etc.
- Civic Education Course “Kyoto Power Development Course” : A unique course that allows you to learn more about Kyoto
- Civic Education Course “Cultural Ability Development Course” : A unique course by Kyoto College to improve citizens’ cultural and community skills
- Recurrent Education Program : Courses designed for the working generation to enhance skills and broaden horizons
Course theme
The courses offered at Kyoto (Miyako) College are broadly categorized into 13 themes, A to L and R, in the table below, so you can search for courses based on the theme you are interested in. Please note that many courses cross over themes, so please be sure to refer to the syllabus for each course before selecting a course.

Kyo College students can use some libraries at member universities and junior colleges of the University Consortium Kyoto. When using the libraries of each university or junior college, please present your Kyo College membership card and check the “Library Common Browsing System” below before using. *Please use your temporary membership card in place of your Kyo College membership card until it arrives.
