Business Overview
This project was started as a project to solve the overwhelming problem of “I can’t answer questions about Japan and Kyoto” in interviews with students who have completed short~long-term study abroad in English-speaking countries, and to develop the ability to convey the charms of their country and Kyoto to many students in English.
In addition to increasing students’ interest in studying abroad, it is expected that the number of Kyoto fans will increase and the number of students studying in Kyoto and tourists will increase by accurately communicating the charms of Kyoto when they study abroad. In addition, by taking the course, you will improve your ability to convey the charms of Kyoto in English, and you can expect to play an active role as a human resource who can convey the charms of Kyoto to foreign tourists and international students even after returning to your home country. In addition, one of the unique features of the University Consortium Kyoto Project is that students can interact with students from other universities and gain knowledge.
Those who wish to complete this training will be appointed by Kyoto City to serve as “Kyoto PR Student Ambassadors” who will promote the charms of Kyoto to the world during their study abroad and other activities.

Outline of the event
When asked by people from overseas, “What kind of country is Japan?”, why not learn how to experience traditional Japanese culture in English and learn the know-how to present about Kyoto and Japan in English?
If you are planning to study abroad, interested in studying abroad, or want to explain Kyoto and Japan to people from abroad… If you are a student who is thinking of this, please feel free to join us!
* Those who wish to complete this training will be appointed by Kyoto City and appointed as ‘Kyoto PR Student Ambassadors’ to promote Kyoto’s charm to the world during overseas study and other activities.
~~Outline of “Presentation on Kyoto in English” ~~
We will hold a total of six half-day training sessions to learn English expressions about Kyoto’s tourist attractions and Kyoto’s traditional culture.

Method: Online training via Zoom (some face-to-face sessions available) Time: 13:30~17:00 (with break)
1. October 17, 2020 (Sat): [Online] (1) Ice Break, Introduction to Japan and Kyoto ~Learn about Japan and Kyoto in English~ (2) Learn expressions to explain traditional Japanese culture in English
2. October 24, 2020 (Sat): [In-person] Traditional Culture: Experience Tea Ceremony and Flower Arrangement in Person
3. October 31, 2020 (Sat): [Online] (1) Mini presentation in English (2) Discussion with international students
4. November 14, 2020 (Sat): [Online] Learn key points for presentations such as Kyoto’s famous spots, events, and souvenirs
5. November 21, 2020 (Sat): [Online] Learn about clothing, food, housing, education, and more in Japan and Kyoto
6. November 28, 2020 (Sat): [Online] Individual Presentation
◎ Eligibility: Must meet all of the following conditions
1. Be a student of a member university or junior college of the Kyoto University Consortium
(No restrictions on enrolled programs (undergraduate, master’s, doctoral)
2. Ability to participate in all training sessions
3. Your English score must meet one of the following criteria:
IELTS 5.0 ・ TOEFL iBT 63 ・ TOEIC 650 or higher
4. Interest in international exchange and cross-cultural understanding
5. Must have an internet connection with online training and a computer with camera and microphone functions.
◎ Capacity: About 20 people
◎ Tuition Fee: 2,500 yen (including reference materials and actual training costs, total for all 6 sessions)
*Please pay in cash (as much as possible without change) on Saturday, October 24.
* Please bear any expenses related to online classes or transportation expenses.
