substance
Theme: “The Role of Universities in the Rapidly Declining Birthrate” | |
Overview |
Amid the rapidly declining birthrate, the number of university enrollments, which currently stands at about 630,000, is expected to decline significantly to 590,000 in 2035 and 460,000 in 2040. As the situation in the world and in Japan changes drastically, how is it necessary to rebuild the higher education system in the future? I will focus on the points of the discussions at the Central Council of Education and the draft report “The Future Vision of Improving Japan’s ‘Total Sum of Knowledge’.” |
