The “FD Joint Training Program and Thematic Training” targets new faculty and staff, teachers who wish to relearn FD fundamentals, teachers interested in FD, and staff working in FD-related departments. This is a group training program designed to acquire skills and knowledge, for example. A total of four meetings will be held in fiscal year 2025.
This year’s inaugural event will be themed “Mental Health,” as detailed below.
Part 1: Lighting Up Tomorrow: How to Prepare University Faculty and Staff and How to Respond to Gen Z
As the environment around universities becomes increasingly challenging, the number of faculty and staff under pressure is rising. The purpose of this workshop is to help university faculty and staff learn ways of thinking and practical methods to turn daily life into positive factors, thereby effectively maintaining and improving their mental health. The health and well-being of faculty and staff themselves will lead to understanding and support for students living in an unstable era of daily information exposure, and will lead to an overall improvement in the quality of the university’s educational and research environment. One of the speakers will share the basic concepts of self-compassion and how to reduce self-criticism and achieve a healthier mindset. Additionally, another speaker will teach us what students are thinking these days, how to cope, and how to keep their distance from them, using real-life examples from the perspective of a certified psychologist and industrial consultant.
