20170213-05Supervised by the Kyoto Student Festival Executive Committee, Nissin Foods Co., Ltd.'s Nisshin Noodle Nippon series "Kyoto Back Fat Soy Sauce Ramen" went on sale nationwide on Monday, February 27.

The "Nisshin Noodle Nippon" series has been sold by Nissin Foods Co., Ltd. as a "local noodle brand that enlivens various noodle cultures rooted in various parts of Japan together with the local community."

This was the first attempt to supervise the ramen by a student group, and the completed ramen was topped with Kujo green onions unique to Kyoto, inspired by the Kyoto ramen style of "back fat chacha ramen". Kyoto students recognize the "taste of Kyoto." It is a proud dish. It is sold at convenience stores and supermarkets nationwide, so if you are interested, please try it!

◆Development (Comments from the Kyoto Student Festival Executive Committee)

About 100 university students who belong to the Kyoto Student Festival Executive Committee tasted ramen and aimed for the taste of ramen that is typical of Kyoto from the students' point of view. By being involved in the development of local ramen in Kyoto, we have reaffirmed the charm of Kyoto's ramen and the charm of Kyoto's food culture, and the Kyoto Student Festival will convey the charm of Kyoto from a new aspect.

【Thank you for the event】Report on the 14th Kyoto Student Festival ~ Kyoto Intercollegiate Festa 2016~

Thank you for holding the event

The 14th Kyoto Student Festival was successfully held on Sunday, October 9, thanks to everyone's support and cooperation. We were worried about the weather on the day of the event, but perhaps because of the enthusiasm of the students on the organizing committee, the rain stopped before 11:00 a.m. and the sun poured down in the afternoon, so we were able to carry out all the programs in the autumn sunny all day. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who came to the festival and all the people who made efforts in various ways to hold this festival.

Event Report

The 14th Kyoto Student Festival was planned with the aim of providing as many students as possible with opportunities to "demonstrate the power of students without regret," which is the activity philosophy of the Kyoto Student Festival. In particular, this year's festival aims to realize a "festival in which people actively participate" by inviting more students from various fields, including art fields such as fashion and art, who had not participated in the festival so far, and we wanted to contribute to the revitalization of the region by disseminating it as an attraction of Kyoto. By expanding the range of genres in this way, we planned the project with the goal of creating a unique student culture for the festival while increasing the number of collaborators, and eventually becoming the "Four Great Festivals in Kyoto" on par with the three major festivals in Kyoto.

Kyoto Student Festival Project Overview

Students in Kyoto, who transcend the boundaries of universities, form an executive committee and engage in daily activities with the aim of disseminating "Kyoto as a city of students" to society in cooperation with the business community, government, local communities, and universities, further revitalizing the Kyoto area, and creating new attractions.
After various community exchange activities throughout the year, such as the promotion of the original creative odori "Kyoen Sodefure!" and sprinkling activities, the grand main festival is held every October as the culmination of these activities.
The University Consortium Kyoto has set the goal of "student growth" in the daily activities of the Student Executive Committee, and provides support aimed at "student independence" in which students themselves can think and act on their own, and supports them so that they can maximize what they have accumulated in the course of their activities since the establishment of the Executive Committee at this festival in October.

The main visual of the 14th Kyoto Student Festival has been decided!

2016 Main Visual Announcement of Application Results

The "main visual," which will serve as the unifying image of the 14th Kyoto Student Festival, was submitted to students for the second time in the previous year, and 46 works were submitted. As a result of the careful judging, the main visual for this year has been decided, and we will announce it. In the future, we will use it in posters and pamphlets that will serve as PR for the Kyoto Student Festival.
Thank you to everyone who applied.

Main Visual Award (design adopted in 2016)

 kingAkane
Watanabe ―Kyoto Seika University 3rd year―

Judges' Comments
It is a bit stiff, but it is a high-quality design that shows that it was carefully made over time.

■Executive Committee Chairperson's Comment
I felt that this work was a powerful representation of the students who were perfect for this year's theme, "Students' Challenge to the Four Major Festivals in Kyoto." I would like to create a shining image of this kind of student festival as a student festival.

■Media in which the design will be used (planned)
* It will be installed mainly in schools, shops, and public facilities in Kyoto City.

  • Poster (3,500 A2 posters, 11,000 copies for B3 Kyoto City PR edition)

Judges' Comments
It is a bit similar to last year's main visual, but it has a good design that has movement and conveys the fun of the student festival.

(2) Kyoto Prefectural Governor's Award

siruba-

Hidemi Yoshida
―Kyoto City University of Arts, 3rd year―

Judges' Comments
It's a little disappointing that you can't expand the image as a design because it contains letters, but it contains many elements of a student festival and is an easy-to-use design.

(3) Kenji Tsuruta Jury Award

siruba-

Katsura Kinaga
Ryukoku University 4th year―

Judges' Comments
It is a design that is loose in a good way and expands the image when you look at it.

(4) Kyoto Prize of the Consortium of Universities

siruba-

Mai Shimizu
―Kyoto University 3rd year―

Judges' Comments
It may be difficult to use because there is no movement, but it follows the application guidelines and is designed like a student festival.

【Finished】Kyoto Student Festival Regional Revitalization Project Started! The first event will be held in Fushimi on Saturday, May 21!

What is the Regional Revitalization Project?

Students in Kyoto, who transcend the boundaries of universities, form an executive committee and engage in daily activities with the aim of disseminating "Kyoto as a city of students" to society in cooperation with the business community, government, local communities, and universities, further revitalizing the Kyoto area, and creating new attractions.
In fiscal 2016, under the title of "Regional Revitalization Project," we called for organizations (partners) that could collaborate hand in hand with students, and decided on a partner partner. Together with these organizations, we will carry out various projects to realize the revitalization of each region of Kyoto. By connecting them to the main festival of the Kyoto Student Festival (scheduled to be held on October 9), which is the culmination of these activities, we aim to become a festival that is more rooted in the community and loved by the people of Kyoto while demonstrating the student's personality.
The first regional revitalization project will be held on Saturday, May 21 at Fushimi Port Park and Fushimi Otesuji Shopping Street. In addition to the Kyoto Student Festival's original creative dance "Kyo Flame Fudeita", there will be a festival project in cooperation with the local group "Oyaji-no-kai" and a mini train in collaboration with Keihan Railway. You can enjoy interaction that transcends generations.
The University Consortium Kyoto has set the goal of "student growth" in these daily activities, and provides support aimed at "student independence" in which students themselves can think and act on their own, and supports them so that they can maximize the achievements they have accumulated in the course of their activities since the establishment of the executive committee at this festival in October. Please come and give encouragement to the executive committee.

The 14th Kyoto Student Festival Executive Committee's Tohoku Project has started!

What is the Tohoku Project?

Inauguration and transition of the project

touhokulogoIn 2013, two years after the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, most of the students in Kyoto, including the Kyoto Student Festival Executive Committee, had not yet seen the reality of Tohoku with their own eyes. This project was launched from the desire of the students themselves to go directly to the affected areas to see and feel this unprecedented disaster and think about what they can do.
Last year, we incorporated tours of the disaster-stricken areas and workshops from the Disaster Volunteer Center into the itinerary, and provided opportunities to learn about the Great East Japan Earthquake itself, and in order to disseminate these to the people of the Kyoto area, we held a report on the results of the disaster, creating an opportunity to reflect on and think about the disaster together with the people of Kyoto.
tohoku1

Initiatives in FY2016

In order to deliver many smiles and excitement to the local people, this visit will focus on a popular odori project ("Kyo Flame Fudeita!" performance and exchange). After the visit, the Kyoto Student Festival Executive Committee aims to prevent the disaster from becoming a social disaster in the Kyoto area and raise disaster prevention awareness by holding debriefing sessions and disaster prevention Japan projects not only for the Kyoto Student Festival Executive Committee but also for the people of the Kyoto area.
Furthermore, we will conduct fundraising activities for the Kumamoto earthquake in order to support the victims of the Kumamoto earthquake that occurred in April 2016. We aim to connect the circle of support for the people affected by the Kumamoto earthquake from Tohoku through Kyoto to Kumamoto, and to raise disaster prevention awareness in the Kyoto area.

Three Significance of the Project

    1. We will deliver the energy and smiles of Kyoto students directly to the local people, and promote continuous emotional exchange with Kyoto students.
    2. By seeing, hearing, and feeling the Great East Japan Earthquake firsthand, we will lead to the personal growth of Kyoto students.
    3. By disseminating what we felt and learned in Tohoku in Kyoto, we will prevent the disaster from fading away.

【Finished】Kyoto Student Festival 2016 Regional Revitalization Project Call for Collaborating Organizations

Overview of the business

Students in Kyoto, who transcend the boundaries of universities, form an executive committee and engage in daily activities with the aim of disseminating "Kyoto as a city of students" to society in cooperation with the business community, government, local communities, and universities, further revitalizing the Kyoto area, and creating new attractions.
After various community exchange activities throughout the year, such as the promotion of the original creative odori "Kyoen Sodefure!" and community collaboration events, the grand main festival is held every October as the culmination of these activities.
The University Consortium Kyoto has set the goal of "student growth" in the daily activities of the Student Executive Committee, and provides support aimed at "student independence" in which students themselves can think and act on their own, and supports them so that they can maximize what they have accumulated in the course of their activities for one year since the establishment of the Executive Committee in November every year at this festival in October.

FY2016 Regional Revitalization Project

The Kyoto Student Festival has a strong image of a festival centered on odori held in the Okazaki area every October, but in addition to this, we also carry out various activities on a daily basis, such as regional and international exchange, with the aim of "spreading the charm of Kyoto" and "revitalizing the region." However, in order to further realize activities in line with these objectives, it is necessary to have a partner who can work hand in hand, not just the Kyoto Student Festival Executive Committee.
Therefore, we will recruit organizations (collaborators) who want to "enliven the community together with students" and "want to further convey the appeal of the region with the perspective and power of students" and promote collaborative projects for a single year. However, the Kyoto Student Festival Executive Committee is also limited in terms of budget, time, and competence, and it is expected that the organizations that have applied for the festival will not be hired, or that the number of organizations that will be hired may be extremely small. Although we are in this situation, we are waiting for organizations that can feel the significance of "Kyoto as a student city" created by industry, academia, and public regions in collaboration and apply to realize their goals.
