As the environment surrounding universities becomes more severe, the number of faculty and staff who are stressed is increasing. The purpose of this training course is to learn the mindset and practical approach of transforming every day into a positive one in order to effectively maintain and improve their mental health. The health and well-being of faculty and staff will also lead to understanding and support for students who live in an era of uncertainty exposed to information every day, and will lead to an improvement in the quality of the educational and research environment of the university as a whole. One of the speakers will teach you how to think about how to reduce self-criticism and achieve a healthier mindset through basic concepts about self-compassion. In addition, another speaker will tell us what students are thinking these days, and how to deal with and distance themselves from them through practical examples.

Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research is the most representative research fund for researchers in Japan, and is an important source of funding for the development of research based on the free ideas of researchers. However, its adoption is not easy. In this training, we will invite lecturers who have experience in being selected for the Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research and have served as judges, and will talk about tips and mindsets for preparing an application for being accepted into the Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research. In addition, we plan to touch on points and strategies for taking on the challenge of obtaining larger-scale funding such as basic research (S), (A), and (B). Since it was held in the previous year and was well received, it was decided to hold it again this year. This is a great opportunity to learn specific advice on writing a Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research application and strategies for success. Please join us.

What kind of seminars do you run in other fields? We will provide opportunities to learn from each other about the ways to make the operation of “seminars and laboratories” more fruitful.
We will invite one lecturer each from the natural sciences and social sciences to introduce the practice and ingenuity of seminar management in different fields.
After that, let’s share information about the management of each seminar with the participants. In addition, we would like to hold a panel discussion based on the concerns and issues faced by the participants and gain new insights. Finally, we will set aside time for a summary and widely share the knowledge gained.
Through this training, participants will be able to connect with each other across fields and bring home tips that can be used in seminar and laboratory management from tomorrow.

In recent years, students’ lack of vocabulary and monotonous expressions have been pointed out as issues in many educational settings. In particular, how to cultivate the “intelligent and sophisticated language” required in public settings, such as presentations, reports, and entry sheets for job hunting, has become one of the important themes for university education.
In this training, instructors who have experience in practicing “activities to enhance vocabulary through games” in online courses and classes will introduce how to effectively learn vocabulary based on public speaking research and educational practice. In addition, participants will be asked to experience how to design game-based learning that allows them to expand their vocabulary while having fun, and how to support intelligent verbalization that can be used in presentations and report guidance.
If you are feeling that you are having problems with student presentations and written expressions, those who want to incorporate independent learning into their classes, and those who want to support the improvement of their expressive skills through career education and employment guidance, please join us as it is full of tips for creating lessons and supporting students.
