Overview of the business
In fiscal 2019, the name was changed to "FD Joint Training Program and Thematic Training."
Since its establishment in 1995, shortly after the establishment of the University Consortium Kyoto, we have been promoting FD activities in the Kyoto area together with member schools as an organizational initiative for faculty members to improve and improve the content and methods of classes.
This "FD Joint Training Program and Thematic Training" is a small-group training program for all faculty and staff of universities and junior colleges with the aim of acquiring skills necessary for university faculty members, such as basic FD knowledge, syllabus creation, lesson design and practice, active learning, and grade evaluation.
It is intended for all university and junior college faculty and staff.

Beyond mere educational improvements and ingenuity, various ways of thinking and initiatives related to the state of higher education itself are required. In this training, students will deepen their understanding of FD by starting with "what a university is in the first place" and learning about the current environment surrounding universities, such as basic knowledge about FD and higher education, and educational administration, as well as exchanging information and deepening mutual understanding among those involved in university education. |

In addition, participants will conduct mutual evaluation through workshops and mock lessons on specific lesson designs by themselves. |

Outline | "Learning Support and Special Needs Workshop" Lecturer: Jun Murata (Associate Professor, Student Support Center, Kyoto University) In recent years, the number of students has become more diverse, and there is a wide demand for study support for various students. In particular, with regard to support for students with disabilities, with the enactment of the Act on the Elimination of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities, each university has become legally obligated or obliged to make efforts to "prohibit unfair discriminatory treatment" and "provide reasonable accommodation" to students with disabilities. In this training, students will first learn basic knowledge about "disability" and then outline the current situation of support for students with disabilities at universities. In addition, I would like to think about support for students with developmental disabilities, which has been increasing in recent years, through the workshop. |

"Active learning" is considered to be one of them. In this training, we will take up active learning and learn about the expected effects and problems. In addition, through workshops, students will create and mutually evaluate actual lesson design plans incorporating active learning. |

The items and contents that should be included in the syllabus are also diversifying. In this training, we will focus on the syllabus and consider the basic concepts and points to note regarding lesson design. In addition, through workshops, students will learn specifically about the consistency of higher-level educational policies and goals, such as curriculum policy (CP) and diploma policy (DP), with individual subjects and classes. |

Outline | "Workshop for Grading Using Case Method" Lecturer: Ikuko Takao (Assistant Professor, Student Training Support Center, Kyoto University of Pharmacy and Life Sciences) Masahiro Nakagawa (Associate Professor, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Kyoto University of Advanced Science) It is desirable that the grading is something that students can understand and agree with in class achievement, and that it encourages students. To this end, it is important to develop fair and clear grade standards and to clarify the evaluation methods and criteria to students in advance. In this training, you will consider what kind of grading criteria are valid and reliable, based on examples of actual classes and class evaluations. Through the exchange of opinions in individual and group work, we will explore the perspectives and methods that you should have when creating a grade evaluation of the classes you practice. |

"It was a good opportunity to look back on the situation of support for students with disabilities at the university" [The 3rd "Learning Support and Special Support Workshop"]", "It was good that it was an opportunity to hear specific initiatives and actual issues from faculty and staff from other universities and share issues.", "The 4th "Learner-centered class workshop"], "Teachers who come from far away, veteran teachers, It was good to be able to interact with various faculty members, including teachers who were new to creating syllabi." 【The 5th "Basic Knowledge and Workshop for Creating a Syllabus"]", "It was a good opportunity to hear the efforts of teachers in the group and rethink my own evaluation method.", "The 6th "Workshop for Grading Using the Case Method"].
