FY2018~FY2021

Overview of the business

In fiscal 2018, we launched the Kyoto High School Teachers' Exchange Meeting as a program to promote understanding of high school-university collaboration and improve the educational capabilities of high schools among high school teachers who directly supervise high school students aiming to enter university. In order to contribute to solving the problems faced by each school and improving education, we will meet regularly regardless of school or establishment company, share educational ideas and concerns, and provide a place to interact with each other to solve them.

The 4th Kyoto High School Teachers' Exchange Meeting
Theme Exchange meeting of candidate research themes assuming the opening of science and mathematics inquiry classes
Outline Discuss and interact with students on lesson design, development of teaching materials, and evaluation of them, centering on the research themes of science and mathematics inquiry.
In the 2020 revision of the Course of Study, a new subject for "Exploration of Science and Mathematics" was established with the aim of "fostering creative human resources who can create knowledge through academic research in the future." In implementing this new course, some high school sites are worried about issues such as the selection of research themes and the development of a teaching system, and it is necessary to respond to them. Many high school students who are struggling to choose a theme to explore mathematics, especially mathematics, may not be able to systematically organize why it is difficult. In addition, from the viewpoint of improving the quality of inquiry, there is a current situation where there is a shortage of faculty members who can research and evaluate the selection of research themes themselves and consider them together. There is a possibility that hints can be obtained from practical case reports on research themes that have already been implemented ahead of time, as well as individual research tasks for exploratory activities such as SSH.
This time, in addition to sharing current issues, high school teachers and university teachers will collaborate to find hints for solving these problems and consider the meaning of mathematical exploration.

The 5th Kyoto High School Teacher Exchange Meeting
Theme Class experience and opinion exchange gatherings to acquire problem-finding skills
Outline Students will experience question-making classes to acquire problem-finding skills in exploratory learning and integrated learning, and interact with each other.
It is important for high school and university students to acquire the skills and mindset to design and practice a learning space where learners themselves can ask questions and delve into them while learning from others. It is also important for us teachers to be able to learn, understand, and utilize new learning methods to identify issues.
Therefore, while interacting in a group work format, we aim to cultivate the ability to identify problems in exploratory learning and integrated learning.
Lecturer Kenichi Sato (Professor, Faculty of Life Sciences, Kyoto Sangyo University / Representative Director, NPO Hatenathon Co-Creation Lab)

FY2020

Kyoto High School Teachers' Exchange Meeting Emergency Special Event (Online Pre-Event)
Theme Online information exchange meeting on new students' motivation and learning motivation due to school closures
Outline Due to the closure of schools to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection, there is a concern that students' motivation to learn will decrease. In particular, new students are expected to have difficulty maintaining motivation after attending school a few times before being closed or switching to online classes, and they cannot build relationships with friends and seniors. Although there are many issues such as academic ability and daily life, this time it is important to consider new students, and it will be a place for specialized exchanges on maintaining motivation and dealing with mental aspects.
In addition, the use of Zoom meetings will be an opportunity to experience online exchange.
Chair Takayuki Shiose (Associate Professor, Kyoto University)

The 6th Kyoto High School Teachers' Exchange Meeting
Theme Practice of active learning using online
Outline In order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection, some schools have started online classes, but few schools are conducting interactive remote classes. Active learning (hereinafter referred to as "AL") recommended for introduction in the new Course of Study. It is difficult to realize this in online classes, and the development of such a method is desired.
Therefore, in a limited ICT environment, we will share a method of realizing AL as well as one-sided transfer of knowledge using online. In addition, we will sort out the differences between the academic ability that can only be acquired by online AL and the academic ability that can only be acquired by face-to-face AL, and search for hints for using online classes and face-to-face classes according to the purpose.

The 7th Kyoto High School Teachers' Exchange Meeting
Theme Experience classes to acquire problem-finding skills and mindset, and think about how to use them in your own classes
Outline Isn't it important for students to acquire the skills and mindset to ask their own questions and practice learning to delve into those questions while learning from others? Isn't it important for us teachers to be able to learn, understand, and utilize new learning methods to identify issues?
Therefore, through hands-on workshops, lectures, and various works in the form of individual and group work, we will delve into the ideal way to cultivate problem-finding skills in each subject and inquiry/integrated learning.

The 9th Kyoto High School Teachers' Exchange Meeting
Theme Thinking about planning the 10th and 11th Kyoto High School Teacher Exchange Meetings
Outline This year marks the fourth year of the Kyoto High School Teachers' Exchange Association. Now that we are entering a "period of development" as a high school-university collaboration, I would like high schools and universities to think together, connect, and create plans in order to expand the circle between high schools and universities.
Therefore, through casual exchanges and opinions between high school teachers and university teachers regarding the planning of this year's exchange meeting, high school teachers will be asked to commit to planning the plan.

Theme Design and implementation of learning programs that incorporate learner-centered questioning
Outline In recent years, terms and concepts such as active learning, proactive, interactive, and deep learning, and inquiry and synthesis have been presented in search of a better way of learning, and specific ways to do so are being explored.
This time, as a basic part of learner-centered question making, participants will provide an opportunity to ask questions and have dialogue with each other about "better ways of learning" through question-making method experience workshops such as QFT (Question Formulation Technique). We would like you to conduct a meta-analysis of the learning effects of each process and facilitation of QFT, and obtain a concrete image and action plan for use in organizational development and class practice at your school.
