【Report】Kyoto Koka Women's University / Koka Sanjo Girls "Kyoto Sanjo-kai Shopping Street Terakoya Project"

On Saturday, February 13, I went to the "Terakoya Thanksgiving Festival" held at Sanjo-kai Terakoya in the Kyoto Sanjo-kai shopping street in Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto City.

This event was held by the Kohwa Sanjo Girls, a student group of Kohwa Women's University who like the Sanjo-kai shopping street, like children, and are active in Terakoya, to have a "place for interaction" that is a playground and learning place for children and a place of community for local people. Until now, it has been held once a month, and this time there were many contents such as making message cards and photo frames that are perfect for the coming season, and craft experiences related to chicks and Valentine's Day.

It seems that there were few participants on the day due to the rain, but the participants said that it was fun and that they would like to come back again, and we could see that they were happy to take home the photo frames and chicks they had made.

Information signs erected at the entrance of the activity site Experience (participants, local residents, members) Finish!!

In addition, big art that makes use of what was created with the participants in the various experiences of the Terakoya business so far will be unveiled in front of the shopping street Terakoya from this day. I was able to encounter it just when it was lifted.

The big art, which was completed beautifully in cooperation with local people, will be displayed for some time from today. Please try to find it at Sanjo-kai Shopping Street.

【Report】Kyoto Keizai Junior College, Symbiosis Project between Local Communities and Universities "Takenosato Waku Waku Marche"

Although the late report continues, on Sunday, November 8, I went to the "Takenosato Waku Waku Marche" held at Takenosato Center Square and Takenosato Kaikan in Nishikyo-ku, Kyoto City. Today, I would like to report on the situation.

This event was planned and held in collaboration with the local community in Rakusai New Town, where the population is aging. Although it rained badly on that day, the venue was lively with local people who came to enjoy the event, talking while eating bread and curry rice, and participating in planned reports and lectures.

The Kyoto Keizai Junior College and Community-University Symbiosis Project has provided various opportunities for the elderly to "create a place to belong" and "create connections," such as a party to enjoy lunch while talking with students and a Chinese language course by international students. We also conduct questionnaire surveys, start a shopping agency business, and other efforts are underway to identify and solve various issues facing the region.

【Report】Miyako Light Executive Committee "Miyako Light '15"

It was a long delay, but on November 6 (Fri), 7 (Sat), and 8 (Sun), I went to "Miyako Light '15" held around Jofukuji-dori Daikokucho and Kamishichiken-dori in Kamigyo-ku, Kyoto City. This time, we will report on the situation.

This event has been held since 2005 by the Tokyo Metropolitan Light Executive Committee, which continues to work mainly in Kamigyo Ward, with the aim of preserving machiya and raising interest in towns and regions, and this is the 11th time this event has been held.

In addition to the beautiful lights leaking from the townhouses, handmade lanterns made with local people, mainly children, were placed everywhere in the city, entertaining the people of the town. In conjunction with the illumination, various exhibitions and experience projects related to Kyoto and Japan culture were held.

Kyoto is the only one in the Japan where thereakemashite
are said to be 20,000 or 30,000 machiya houses, but the number continues to decrease as architecture and housing change.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Light Executive Committee held activities this time as well, believing that volunteer students who gathered with various goals such as "I want to convey the goodness of machiya to many people," "I want to convey the charm of the area and town of Kyoto," and "I want to enliven the community with the power of students" will be one of the forces to leave machiya for future generations.

Members of the Tokyo Metropolitan Light Executive Committee There were 33 executive committee members, about 80 staff on the day, and a whopping 1,500 visitors.

【Report】Kyoto Seika University Keihoku Utsu Treasure Search Association "The 3rd Autumn Children's Photography Class"

In the Uzu area of Keihoku-cho, Ukyo-ku, Kyoto City, we have received another activity report from the Keihoku Utsu Treasure Search Association, an activity circle that aims to revitalize the region through searching for local treasures (nature, people, technology, tradition, history, etc.).

On November 7th, the Keihoku Uzu Treasure Hunting Association held a Uzu Children's Photography Class. This time, the number of children increased significantly, and as many as 15 children participated. This time it was cloudy, but I was able to take a picture without rain from start to finish. Continuing from the previous and previous editions, this time we received guidance from Professor Shunji Kamemura, who specializes in photography and video at Kyoto Seika University.

At the end, Professor Kamemura commented on the photos taken by the children. Everyone listened to Dr. Kamemura's comments seriously, getting excited about the photos they had taken and commenting on the photos taken by their friends. ﷽﷽﷽﷽﷽﷽﷽﷽﷽﷽﷽﷽﷽﷽﷽﷽

On November 8, two teams organized materials and previewed the hiking course.

The organization of materials has come to an end, but there is no sign of it finishing yet. I would like to finish it little by little.

The hiking course team was divided into two teams of Joshoji Torafu Kobo to conduct research in order to determine the base for course creation. We are considering whether we can build a hiking trail based on this place.

From now on, both teams will continue to work together and do their best to bring it to you.

【Activities】Ryukoku University-Higashitakasegawa Environmental Protection and Jizo Basin Project

We would like to introduce that the "Ryukoku University-Higashitakasegawa Environmental Protection and Jizo Bon Project Team," which consists of members of the Ryukoku University Kubota Seminar, received an award from the mayor of Kyoto City on November 15 as a "Kyoto Regional Power Improvement Contributing Business Operator."

The "Kyoto Community Power Improvement Contribution Business Awards System" is an initiative by Kyoto City to commend businesses, NPOs, universities, etc. that are contributing to the improvement of regional power with the aim of further promoting the revitalization of local communities from FY26.

In the "Ryukoku University-Higashitakasegawa Environmental Protection and Jizo Basin Project," the students who were project members not only held an event on the day of the Jizo Basin, but also worked with the Sunagawa School District Residents' Federation and the Kawakubo Town Residents' Association to clean up the Higashitakase River, which flows through Kawakubo Town, as an initiative for environmental issues. The Higashi-Takase River is the main venue for the Kawakubo Town Jizo Basin, and the cleanup activities and mowing were completed in a shorter time than last year due to the participation of students. In addition, we were able to participate in the two-day Jizo Bon from the event planning stage, which pleased the local people.

In addition to cleaning up and mowing the Higashitakase River in front of the Jizo Basin, these members also participate in the Higashitakase River Cleanup Activity, which is held every November, along with local residents, high school students, and elementary school students.

Through these initiatives, we were praised for helping students in community activities, increasing the momentum for participation in local activities, and contributing to the revitalization of local communities. And that.

If students, as members of the community, can not only participate in events but also expand their interest in landscapes, transportation, disaster prevention, etc. through local environmental issues, I think it will lead to revitalization and student learning in any region.

【Activities】Maka-dori IX. "Do you sing waka? Everyday scenery seen from Koi Bana"

The Kyoto University of Art and Design Modern Industrial Heritage Art Revitalization Project "Maka-dori IX." is an organization that continues its activities with the aim of regional revitalization through modern industrial heritage and local community art, mainly in the Rokuhara School District of Higashiyama Ward, and this year is the 11th year of its activities. Closely tied to the community, we have unearthed overlooked cultures and forgotten and buried histories and resources from an artistic perspective, and many events and workshops have been held this year as well. And we have received information about a new project to be held this time, so we will inform you.

20151128205200705s

From the waka poems sung mainly by Higashiyama, we can decipher the lives, romances, and lifestyles of the people of that time, and how these cultures are connected to the present day and how they remain. We will welcome Professor Makoto Ueno, Faculty of Letters, Nara University, as a guest and pursue the fun of looking at the town from multiple perspectives.

At the end of the three-part project, an annual rakugo lecture will also be held.

It is planned to be an opportunity to expand the connection not only with the people of Higashiyama Ward but also with various local residents, so if you are interested, please join us.

【Activities】Ryukoku University-Higashitakasegawa Environmental Protection and Jizo Basin Project

We would like to introduce the activity report from the "Ryukoku University-Higashitakasegawa Environmental Protection and Jizo Bon Project Team", which continues its activities in the area around Higashitakasegawa, Fushimi Ward.

"We conducted a cleanup activity on the Higashitakase River with local people."

On Wednesday, November 11, members of the Higashitakase River Environmental Protection and Jizo Basin Project participated in local river cleanup activities. With the aim of revitalizing the region, we have been working together with local people, from planning Jizo Bon events to setting up venues and improving and operating the environment. The stage for the Jizo Basin was the bank of the Higashi-Takase River.

It turned out that the Higashitakasegawa River is a field of "town development learning" for the students of the local Fushimi Technical High School. Therefore, in October, we invited Professor Kanji Oshita, who was in charge, to the university and introduced the efforts of the high school students.

At that time, we heard that cleanup activities would be held around November, and our request to work together was accepted and river cleanup activities were implemented. In fact, high school students also have the goal of discovering problems in the community and solving them, so I realized that our goals are the same.

On the day of the event, more than 150 people, including students of Fushimi Technical High School, students of Sunagawa Elementary School, Ryukoku University students, local residents and government officials, participated in cleanup activities on the Higashi-Takase River, surrounded by good weather.

According to local residents, compared to a few years ago, the littering of garbage has disappeared and the littering of empty cans and plastic bottles has decreased considerably. The hope of the locals is "Let's fly fireflies to the Higashitakase River!" I realized that environmental protection efforts are truly "continuity is power."

【Activities】Hoen ~ Engawa Project that connects beyond time and distance ~

We would like to introduce the activity report of the "Hoyoen ~ Engawa Project to Connect People ~ Executive Committee", which is active mainly in the Toyoen School District in Shimogyo-ku.
This project was implemented with the aim of encouraging children, young people, and the elderly to interact with each other between generations, encouraging the participation of elderly people who do not usually participate in events, and creating a "veranda" where elderly people who do not usually talk much can interact with people of the same generation and different generations.
From the messages and photos, we can see the fulfilling contents of the activities, and we are looking forward to future efforts.

"This is
Morikawa from the Executive Committee of the Toyoen ~ Engawa Project to Connect People, and on Sunday, October 25, we held the second event we are planning, the "Handmade Plaza" to make misanga. Not only in the Hoen School District, but also many residents participated and enjoyed making misanga. There were children who made multiple films by themselves and went home, and it seemed that they were addicted to making things.
It was also a more enjoyable event because I was able to interact with local residents."

【Activities】Ryukoku Project
to Support the Environment of Mirai "Inari Gaku~Club-Initiated Activities, Travel Manners"

Among the projects adopted this year, today we would like to introduce one of the activities that will be carried out in Fushimi Ward, "Inari Gaku ~ Club Departure Oshiyasu, Travel Manners".

The Ryukoku Project (Mira Pro), an organization that promotes the "Inari Gaku~Travel Manners" project, is an organization that learns through events happening in the real world and thinks about the ideal landscape and urban development in order to create a better environment. Formed in fiscal 2009, various activities have been carried out, such as surveys and hearings in each region, proposals to the government, and symposiums to exchange opinions and disseminate information.

This year, Mira Pro is focusing on and tackling the manners and communication of foreign tourists, as well as the hospitality of those tourists. While Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine welcomes the bustle of the area with many foreign tourists visiting every day, there are many problems in terms of safety and hygiene, such as the way tourists throw away garbage.

Therefore, Mirapro collects and analyzes information from questionnaire surveys of visiting foreign tourists and local residents, and plans and implements manners communication based on the results, and in light of the increasing number of foreign tourists in the future, we are promoting activities aimed at mutual understanding between hosts and guests from the perspective of students. Now that Kyoto has been selected as the number one popular tourist city, we are recognizing that it is attracting attention from all over the world, and we plan to propose a model plan for travel etiquette for foreign tourists. Please look forward to the future of "Mira Pro"!!

Questionnaire survey for foreign tourists Surveys conducted with local residents Conducted interviews with various related departments Workshop Workshops are also held

【Activities】Hoen ~ Engawa Project that connects beyond time and distance ~

Among the projects adopted this year, today we would like to introduce the "Toyoen ~ Engawa Project to Connect People ~ Executive Committee", which is mainly active in the Toyoen School District of Shimogyo-ku.

The "Hoenen ~ Engawa Project to Connect People ~ Executive Committee" is an organization consisting of students from the Faculty of Economics of Ryukoku University, and since October 2011 has been working to create a "town veranda" where people of all ages, from young to old, can easily interact.

As one of the projects, on Saturday, September 12, a cooking class titled "Town Vegetable Expo" was held at Fokoji Temple in Shimogyo Ward.
The menu to be cooked is "curry". The weather was very nice on the day of the event, and under the blue sky, we invited a professional chef to take a food education seminar to learn about vegetables from cutting to finishing, and not only children who like to cook but also children who are new to holding knives enjoyed working on it.
Of course, the finished curry is delicious on the spot!
While cooking and eating curry, various people involved in this project, including participants, deepened their exchanges.

【Activities】Fushimi / Fukakusa Community Archive Project

Since last fiscal year, the Fushimi-Fukakusa Community Archive Project has been collecting local materials (deteriorating 8mm film) that record the townscape and life of the Showa era from the perspective of the city as a valuable local resource, and has been working to collect film in the Fukakusa area of Fushimi Ward. In addition, the films selected by local residents have been digitized as materials to pass on the lives of those days to future generations, and are often held at viewing events titled "Fukakusa Machiya Cinema" and made available to the public.

On Wednesday, August 26, the 11th "Fukakusa Machiya Cinema" was held, counting from last year's activities. This year's theme is "Let's know the charm of 8mm film!" We invited Mr. Hiroyuki Yoshioka, CEO of Yoshioka Imaging Co., Ltd., to talk about the significance of preserving the valuable images of the films that have been restored so far.

At the venue, Ryukoku University's Fukakusa Machiya Campus, a total of about 30 participants, including 8mm film donors and local residents, gathered to talk and interact in a friendly atmosphere, cheering on nostalgic images such as Iwakura matsutake mushroom picking and Kiyotaki Atago Cable in the early Showa era, and answering questions from students who did not know the time.

【Activities】Ryukoku University-Higashitakasegawa Environmental Protection and Jizo Bon Project Team

Among the projects adopted this year, today we would like to introduce one of the activities that will be carried out in Fushimi Ward, "Ryukoku University-Higashitakasegawa Environmental Protection and Jizo Basin Project".

At Higashitakase River in Fushimi Ward, Kyoto City, local organizations, neighborhood associations, and students of the Department of System Engineering of Fushimi Technical High School continue to carry out cleanup activities and mowing grass, and last year project members belonging to Ryukoku University Junior College participated as volunteers in the activities of the "Kawakubo Town Jizo Basin" held against the backdrop of the Higashitakase River, and it was very well received by the local people. In response to this, Ryukoku University's Higashitakasegawa Environmental Protection and Jizo Basin Project Team will be involved in the activities of the Higashi-Takase River cleanup in addition to the activities of the "Kawakubo Town Jizo Basin" as in the previous year's Gakumachi Collaboration Project, and will participate in environmental protection and community development. By allowing students to participate in local events such as summer festivals and Jizo Basin, which tend to lack excitement due to the declining birthrate and aging population, we aim to revitalize the region through intergenerational exchange, and not only participate in events, but also deepen the history and research of Jizo Basin, so that students who do not know the Jizo Bon event itself in the first place can get involved with local people in traditional events in Kyoto. It is expected that new discoveries and learnings will be born.

This year, the Jizo Bon will be held in Fukakusagawa Kubo Town according to the following schedule. As a bridge between generations that connects adults and children, please look forward to the students working hard to enliven the Jizo Basin.

【Activities】Kyoto Seika University Keihoku Utsuho Search Association

Among the projects adopted this year, today we would like to introduce one of the activities that will be carried out in Ukyo Ward, "Kyoto Seika University Keihoku Utsuho Search Association".
The Uzu area of Ukyo-ku, Kyoto City, is a wonderful area blessed with rich nature, history, and culture, but in recent years, depopulation has progressed, such as the closure of elementary schools, the closure of nursery schools, and the closure of agricultural cooperatives, which has become a serious problem.
This project has been ongoing since fiscal 2013 with the aim of reaffirming the goodness and rarity of the region that local residents have not noticed through students' knowledge and youthful sensibilities by gathering in the depopulated Uzu area and engaging in various initiatives while interacting with local residents, and disseminating the charm of Utsu as a "treasure" both inside and outside the region.
In particular, this year, we plan to make use of our activities so far to hold children's photography classes in all four seasons, revise the Uzu area map created last year, and create regional information signboards. In addition, various initiatives will be implemented more than last year, such as creating a database and archiving of materials left at the former Uzu Elementary School, and efforts will be implemented with the aim of forming a foundation for activities led by local residents by focusing on disseminating the charms of Uzu in various forms inside and outside the region.
There are many initiatives to be implemented this summer as well. "What is Utsu like?" or "What is the charm of Uzu?" If you are interested, why don't you join us and discover it together this summer?

In this project, the Mizonobashi 801 Shopping Street Promotion Association and student volunteers from Kyoto Sangyo University collaborate to operate bicycle taxis as a new means of transportation for the elderly and people with disabilities who have destinations but have limited means of transportation. Students who have received proper training and learned the rules of operation will become bicycle taxi drivers, and support users so that they can easily go out and lead a more comfortable life. It is also expected to improve the ability of shopping districts to attract customers and promote sales, building and strengthening local communities.
The bicycle taxi is operated at a one-way fare of 500 yen for shopping, going to the hospital, restaurants, etc. in the shopping district, operating 2 days a week (Wednesday and Thursday) for 3 hours a day from 10 a.m. ~ 1 p.m. each day, and telephone reception (Wednesday ~ Sunday) from 10 a.m. ~ 4 p.m. every day. We have announced the analysis results related to the "Citizens' Life Actual Feeling Survey" in FY27!

We will announce the analysis results of the "Citizens' Life Actual Feeling Survey" conducted as part of the "Kyoto Creative Research Project for the Future" jointly conducted by the University Consortium Kyoto and Kyoto City.

As part of Kyoto City's policy evaluation system, the "Citizens' Life Perception Survey" is conducted to grasp the actual feelings of citizens about the extent to which the policies and measures set forth in the city's basic plan have been achieved, and the results of the analysis are used as a useful source of information to grasp the awareness and needs of citizens. It can be used by those who are engaged in community development activities.
This fiscal year marks the fifth year since the survey began, and we are conducting analysis from the perspective of trends over the past five years, including featuring highlights on how citizens' perceptions of life have changed significantly over the past five years.
