“Easy Japanese” seminar that is easy to understand for Japanese people and that is easy to understand for foreigners

Contents: “Easy Japanese required for foreigners studying and working in Kyoto in emergencies such as disasters”
~Protects students and employees and helps in daily community life~

“Easy Japanese” is a language that uses the lessons learned from the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake of 1995 to convey information smoothly to foreigners.

This is a Japanese expression that can be translated into simple Japanese.

In this training, we will provide an overview of “Easy Japanese” and its basic rules, as well as explain how foreigners can help during disasters and the coronavirus pandemic.

Learn about situations you are likely to find yourself in.

It can be used not only in emergency interactions with international students and foreign employees, but also in daily life.

Learn how to communicate “easy Japanese” through group work and practical activities.

[Internship] [Event Report] 2023 Practical Experience Exchange Meeting (Business Course/Public Course)

We held a “Practical Experience Exchange Meeting” as a post-study for the Business Course/Public Course.
Thank you to everyone who participated.

Five to six seminar classes from different industries gathered, and each seminar class presented their experiences and insights gained through internships. One of the best parts of the University Consortium Kyoto Internship Program is that students who have completed practical training at various host institutions can gather and share their experiences. Please make use of the valuable experience you gained during your internship in your future university life!

In this event, you can enter Heian Jingu Shrine Garden for free, which normally requires an admission fee.
On the day of the event, after taking photos in the shrine grounds, we will share the photos taken in the hall and vote for the best photos.

Would you like to translate a movie? We are looking for translation volunteers.


The 26th Kyoto International Student Film Festival is looking for volunteer translators who can translate domestic and international student films (Japanese or English) to be screened at this film festival.
The translated content will be displayed as subtitles at the screening of the 26th Kyoto International Student Film Festival to be held in February 2024.

<What is the Kyoto International Student Film Festival?>
This film festival is Japan’s largest international student film festival, planned and operated mainly by university students in the Kansai region, mainly in Kyoto. We collect independent films produced by students from all over the world, judge them, create opportunities to screen them, and aim to discover future filmmakers. Click here for details

<Eligibility>
● College students, graduate students, vocational school students, working adults who like movies and are interested in translation work
● Those who are able to work from home or contact the film festival executive committee from the end of September to the end of October.
● Those who can participate in the briefing session (see below) (This does not apply to experienced subtitle translators.)
● Those who are proficient in foreign languages (TOEIC score of 750 or higher is desirable)
● As a reward for your cooperation, we will give you an invitation ticket during the film festival.
*Depending on the number of people, we may not be able to ask all applicants to translate the subtitles. In addition, we may ask for translation/interpretation other than subtitles.
