kif_2011_2

The 9th Kyoto Student Festival aims to make everyone involved in the Kyoto Student Festival, including visitors, know more about the Kyoto Student Festival.
In order to spread the Kyoto Student Festival, we will establish original plans for the Kyoto Student Festival by improving the quality of the project, strengthen public relations, exchange with the community, and collaborate with industry, academia and government, so that the appeal of the Kyoto Student Festival will be deeply appreciated so that this festival will further permeate and be supported by the community.
With the idea of "Fuka-Kyoto Student Festival" to "permeate the people of Kyoto and further energize Kyoto, full of student power," we will create a festival where the Kyoto Student Festival takes root in Kyoto more deeply than ever before.
In addition, we will implement various responses to the Great East Japan Earthquake that occurred on March 11.
By creating the festival by uniting all the people involved in the Kyoto Student Festival, we will transmit the students' passion to further revitalize Kyoto from Kyoto to the whole country and the world.

When the Great East Japan Earthquake occurred, we at the Kyoto Student Festival Executive Committee wanted to do something useful and wondered if there was anything that only we could do. In order to carry out a project that would energize the victims of the earthquake, we aimed to create a project that would bring energy and smiles to the people who participated and those who were noticed by the Great East Japan Earthquake, the disaster-stricken areas, and the victims, helping the reconstruction as much as possible, and making the Japan feel energetic and smiling.

Popularization of the original creation odori "Kyo Flame Sodefure!"

As a dissemination of Kyoto's new culture, the Kyoto Student Festival original creation odori that all generations can enjoy together, Kyo Flame Sodefure! has been born for 7 years. This year as well, we will value exchanges with local people and strive to revitalize Kyoto. The number of odori moves has reached 750, and the number of odori performances and visiting classes continues to increase year by year, and last year we were able to hold 401 times. Kyo Flame Mikoshi

Mikoshi, which is said to carry people's thoughts and wishes, will be loaded with the thoughts of the Kyoto Student Festival, a new power created by Kyoto, a city of students, with the aim of revitalizing Kyoto. By wishing for the well-being of students and citizens studying in Kyoto and wanting to further enliven Kyoto, we will convey that desire and make it something that will be passed down together with Kyo Flame Mikoshi.

kif_2011_4

Interaction between university
students and local festivals By participating in the Kyoto Student Festival and local festivals as mikoshi bearers and enjoying the festival together with the participants, we will create a place for community exchange, demonstrate the energy of the students, and enliven Kyoto as a whole.

Community exchange with students and children (Mikoshi creative group)
We support the creation of "creative mikoshi" by groups participating in parades at kindergartens, elementary schools, junior high schools, high schools, and children's halls in Kyoto.

KYO-SENSE Project

KYO-SENSE will make use of the sensibilities of students studying in Kyoto, where the Kyoto Protocol was launched, to make it a globally friendly festival loved by the local community, the city of Kyoto, and the whole country.

kif_2011_5

Last year, we disseminated eco-friendly information throughout the year as a project of the Regional Business Division, and on the day of this festival, the region, companies, and students worked together as a division of the Regional Business Division to propose a sustainable social model that makes use of ancient wisdom and today's wisdom. This year, we are planning to hold the KYO-SENSE Expo on the day of the festival, where students and the local community will work together to disseminate eco-friendliness.

Community Exchange Activities

In the Okazaki area, which is used as a local night patrol
venue, night patrols are conducted on the 20th of every month. In recognition of these efforts, in 2007 we received a security guard and a security jumper from the Kawabata Crime Prevention Association. In addition, on the 5th of every month, it is also held in the Annyeong-Meiyao area, which is the place of activity. We will continue to patrol for the safety and revitalization of the community.

We are helping with summer festivals in the Annei and Meiyai areas of Motoanning Elementary School, which we use as a base for participating in summer festivals in various places, and summer festivals
in the Okazaki area. Also, at summer festivals in other regions, Kyo Flame Sodefure! We are showing off.

Implementation Report

For the first time in five years, the Kyoto Student Festival was condensed into two → one day, and the charm that can be felt by visiting was packed into the city.

In addition, we are focusing on community exchange activities throughout the year, and opened a festival booth in cooperation with Kyoto Municipal Okazaki Junior High School. In addition, as a reconstruction support activity after the Great East Japan Earthquake, a charity project "Kyoen ~Kyoto's Thoughts~" was held at Porta Plaza in September, and Yuru-chara from the Tohoku region appeared on the day of the festival.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who came to the venue and all the people involved who supported us in various ways in holding this festival, and would like to report on the event.
