Implementation Report
On Saturday, June 23, 2012, the University Consortium Kyoto held the “2012 Kyoto FD Executive School”.
We welcomed 53 participants, mainly from the presidents of the 50 member universities and other members of the university executive committee, and Dr. Toru Iiyoshi of Kyoto University gave a thought-provoking talk based on his extensive knowledge and experience in higher education at the Carnegie Endowment and MIT.
Although the lecture was limited to the time after the general meeting of the consortium, many questions were asked after the lecture was over, and a lively question-and-answer session was held.
In a post-event questionnaire from a participant, he said, “I was very inspired, and I realized how old and fragile the university industry in Japan is.” Comments such as “I was able to get a lot of hints for thinking about how to make students actively learn.” In addition, almost all of the respondents responded that it is necessary to continue to conduct such training in the future.
