Career Education” project has been launched.

Future Session for High School and University Collaboration

The Future Session is a program that aims to promote the career development of high school and university students, and is a program in which a theme is set each time and dialogue and exchange on that theme across generations and schools, such as high school students, university students, and working adults.
This year, based on the following themes, objectives, and objectives, we recruited executive committee members from high school and university students in Kyoto Prefecture, and the executive committee members took the lead in creating this project by participating in the planning stage, such as the theme and program structure of the day, as well as public relations activities and the implementation plan for the day.
Therefore, the event will be held as described in the “Outline of the event” below.

theme

“What is the new life design of ‘learning’ and ‘working’ in the era of with corona?”

gist

In 2020, as a measure to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection, school closures and the introduction of online classes were promoted in the field of education, and companies were also required to change their lifestyles, such as the introduction of telework. In a society with an uncertain future due to the coronavirus pandemic, how will education and society change in the future, and how can high school and university students redesign “learning” and “working” in response to these changes?
While there are various possibilities, we would like to provide an opportunity for high school and university students, who will be responsible for the next generation, to think for themselves with a flexible mindset with an eye on the future through exchanges that transcend generations and schools, and to build a new life design for “learning” and “working” in the future.

purpose

(1) We aim to broaden the horizons of high school and university students in Kyoto Prefecture by exposing them to opinions and ideas from various perspectives, and to create new networks.(2) Create new ideas about how to study after entering university, how to work and live after entering society, and think about specific career choices.(3) In order to derive optimal solutions from complex problems, experience the importance of dialogue among people from various positions.(4) High school and university students will take the initiative in participating from the planning stage, and develop the ability to work independently and interactively by planning and creating their own themes and program structures.(5) Through the implementation debriefing session, we will continue to provide opportunities for daily learning and awareness, rather than making participation a temporary one.

Event Overview

“Let’s Think About It – A New Life Design in the Age of Living with COVID-19”

As part of measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, online classes have been introduced in educational settings, and companies are also shifting to telework, prompting changes in our lifestyles.
In this rapidly advancing online society brought about by the pandemic, how will society and education evolve, and how can high school and university students redesign “learning” and “working” in response to these changes?
Furthermore, by understanding new forms of education and society that utilize IT, and discovering new potential and richness in each region, it may be possible to explore a different kind of life design.
Through dialogue with guest speakers, this session provides an opportunity for high school and university students — the next generation — to think independently and flexibly about “learning” and “working” in the age of living with COVID-19. By engaging in group work and discussions, they will gain new insights and learning to help them shape their own futures.

Implementation Report

On Sunday, November 15, we held the 2020 High School and University Collaboration Future Session. This year, from the viewpoint of preventing the spread of the new coronavirus infection, the event was held online using Zoom, but 37 participants gathered, including 18 members of the executive committee made up of high school and university students in Kyoto Prefecture.
This time, we invited Mr. Yuki Hasegawa, Coordinator of Attraction of Kyoto Prefectural Kaedani High School and Miyazu Amabashi High School, and Ms. Tomoki Sakashita and Ms. Rina Shibasaki, fourth-year students at Business Breakthrough University. The three guests talked about the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and future prospects under the theme of “New Life Design in the With Corona Era.”
After each 15-minute guest lecture, there was a talk session with questions and answers between the guests and participants. The guests carefully answered some of the many interesting questions asked by the participants.
Later, in the breakout session, each group shared their impressions of the guests, and then deepened their thoughts on their own future by exchanging opinions on their future lifestyles while looking back on their current lives under the theme of “Life Design of ‘Learning’ and ‘Work’ in the Corona Disaster.”
The participants were greatly stimulated by interacting with high school and university students from other schools, who can connect regardless of distance or location because they are online, and were able to spend a very valuable time gaining new awareness and learning about “learning” and “working” in the with Corona era.
