FY2020

Overview of the business

The Kyoto Student Festival has been held every October since 2003 in the Heian Jingu and Okazaki Promenade areas, and is a major event that attracts more than 100,000 visitors. It is a student-produced festival that can be done by university students studying in Kyoto, a student town where students account for 10% of the population.
This year marks the 18th year of the Kyoto Student Festival, which has shifted from the Heisei era to the Reiwa era, and we aim to continue to be loved throughout Kyoto while deepening cooperation with companies, universities, governments, and the community. On the day of the Kyoto Student Festival, we will do our best every day so that we can attract the audience with various events every year, such as dancing and music, food, sports, and art.

About the theme

We hope to provide everyone involved in the Kyoto Student Festival with a place to pursue and communicate the possibilities of their dreams, and through the activities of the Kyoto Student Festival, we want to create an opportunity to connect people and places in Kyoto and unite Kyoto.
With the two keywords of "dream" and "connection" in mind, the 18th Kyoto Student Festival is connected to dreams, connected by dreams, and connected by dreams. We aim to be such a festival.

We have been preparing to hold the 18th Kyoto Student Festival on Sunday, October 11, 2020. However, in light of the recent spread of the new coronavirus infection, we have decided that it will be difficult to hold the festival in the Heian Jingu-mae and Okazaki Promenade areas as usual, because we cannot guarantee the safety of all people involved, including visitors, performers, and executive committee members.
And precisely because of this situation, we have been preparing to create a place where students can shine and opportunities for many people to enjoy. As a result of repeated consideration, it has been decided that the 18th Kyoto Student Festival will be held online for the first time in 18 years.

Outline of the project

Kyo Flame held every year Sodefure! Popular content such as presentations will not only be implemented in different formats, but we will also prepare new projects that can only be developed online, and will implement two types of projects: "viewing type" and "participatory type".

The 18th Kyoto Student Festival Annual Activities

The Kyoto Student Festival aims to be a "festival" that is loved and rooted in the community, as well as the main festival, and we will carry out daily activities throughout the year together with the local people. This year, along with the pre-event being held online, we will continue to hold online plans that will attract the attention of many people, without changing the original purpose of the project, which is "an initiative that specializes in public relations capabilities that catch the eye."

1. The 18th Kyoto Student Festival Online Pre-Event

Purpose of the project

By making it an online event, we aim to make it an opportunity to let people from Kyoto know about the Kyoto Student Festival not only to people in Kyoto but also to people nationwide who were not able to target it until now.
In addition, this event aims to increase the number of participants in the online festival by actively utilizing the official website of the Kyoto Student Festival, which is the source of video distribution in the online main festival, YouTube, and various other SNS. By holding multiple events targeting a wide range of generations and specializing in PR capabilities, we aim to raise awareness of the Kyoto Student Festival and invite many people to come to the Kyoto Student Festival Main Festival on Sunday, October 11, 2020.

2. Community Exchange Activities

Purpose of the project

The executive committee interacts with the Okazaki area, the venue of the Kyoto Student Festival, and local people who have been connected through past activities, expressing their gratitude on a daily basis and building a cooperative relationship for the festival. However, even though summer festivals and night patrols in each region, which we have mainly participated in as a place for interaction with local people, have been canceled, we will continue to cooperate and give back to the local people who are indebted to us in various situations, and we will create opportunities for exchange and revitalize the region by holding events that many people can easily participate in.
