FY2021

Overview of the business

As education and research in higher education institutions become more sophisticated and complex, SD will become mandatory from 2017, and it is hoped that faculty and staff will further improve their qualifications and promote collaboration between the teaching profession.
In addition, the environment surrounding higher education institutions is changing rapidly, and university staff are increasingly required to acquire a wide range of knowledge and advanced expertise.
The SD Joint Training Program aims to reduce the costs of each member university by taking advantage of economies of scale with the aim of improving the capabilities of staff and improving the efficiency and sophistication of university operations.
Please use it as an opportunity to exchange information and build networks beyond universities.

Business manners as easy as you know

1. Outline of the training

  • Students will learn the necessary knowledge and business manners as a university employee, as well as the basics of how to proceed with their work, and acquire the ability to adapt to their duties and workplace.
  • It starts with the understanding that manners are "serious techniques" for getting work done. If you think of manners as a technique to make your work go smoothly, you have to think about how you will be perceived by the other person. In addition to grooming and greetings, you will also learn the "patterns" of various manners, such as how to greet customers, how to make phone calls, and how to use honorifics.
  • Most of the problems that arise at the places where young staff are assigned are related to speaking. For example, no reports, inability to use honorifics, not answering the phone, making negative remarks, etc. In other words, I will tell you about the approach to "how to speak as a member of society", which is important in the education of new employees and young people.

2. Points of training management

  • By providing a flow of lectures (knowledge injection) ~ exercises (practice) for each item, we will realize "strengthening practical skills through input ⇒ output". It also leads to the understanding that what you understand is not necessarily something that can be put into practice.
  • Incorporate lectures, exercises, and instructor comments into key points to keep students focused and motivated.

Introduction to "Work Style Awareness Reform"
Using Online Technology ~What is brought about by the segmentation of working hours due to the ubiquity of workplaces~

Higher education institutions in the coronavirus pandemic are currently in the midst of transformation. With the evolution of Internet infrastructure and digital technology, learning regardless of location is becoming the default. Based on examples such as the "Satamana Program," regarding the students' "subdivision of learning time due to the ubiquity of places to learn" and how university staff should work to create and support the environment, Mr. Atsushi Tamura of "Kyoto Migration Plan" and Mr. Kazuya Shibata of "Oikaze Co., Ltd." I would like to think about the "work style awareness reform" brought about by this company.

■Leading work style reform! Labor Management Supervisor School

【Why is managerial training necessary?】
In addition to the work style reforms (the first phase of working hour legislation), not only companies but also universities are facing a number of issues related to labor management, such as the second phase of equal pay for equal work, the legislation on power harassment, and the accelerated response to telecommuting. In order to overcome this difficult situation, managers need to acquire the necessary and systematic knowledge about labor management.
By having managers acquire correct knowledge + acquire actual problems and examples of countermeasures, it is possible not only to prevent labor troubles, but also to play a supporting role in improving the workplace environment and improving business performance by improving the workplace environment and responses. In addition, managers are the linchpin of the field for many universities.
In general, most of the consultations raised by HR and management are problems from the field. Therefore, if managers who are the key to the field acquire knowledge about labor management, the number of problems that rise to the top of the university will decrease, the work environment will improve, and the trust of subordinates will increase.

If you understand the academic affairs, you will be able to see the university affairs! "Educational Affairs and Related Laws and Regulations"

Education in Japan, which adopts "legalism in education," is characterized by its interpretation and operation based on the Constitution of Japan and the recognition of education as a right. The policies and administrations surrounding the university are implemented in accordance with education-related laws and regulations.
On the other hand, if we look at the university, decision-making related to teaching and academia is basically decided through various meeting bodies while being made by the faculty assembly of the faculty (graduate school), and there are many laws and regulations that are the basis for such decisions.
Since much of the university's activities are related to teaching, decisions made by the university will be made mainly by the educational institutions of each university, but if the proposal involves financial measures or revisions to regulations, it is necessary to deliberate not only in the educational institution but also in the corporate institution centered on the Board of Directors. For university staff, the laws and regulations surrounding education are inseparable.
If you look at the laws and regulations around your work, you may have a different perspective!

Time management that can be done now to finish on time

In this training, under the pretext of "for students," the aim is to make students aware of the importance of time management, with the goal of ensuring that work is accomplished while reducing working hours, which tend to be long.
Time is not infinite. In addition, the tasks that can be performed during a single working day are limited. Moreover, in university work, the "destination" is often invisible and sometimes limitless.
In such an environment, let's think about which process can be used to carry out work efficiently, whether the process that has gone through is really necessary, while discussing sustainable work styles with participants, while reviewing the standardized way of working and your own behavior patterns.

English Speaking Mindset Transformation Training

At present, when the internationalization of universities and the development of global human resources are being discussed, it is becoming increasingly necessary for all staff members belonging to universities to speak foreign languages, acquire and support international students, and promote partnership work with overseas universities. This program aims to improve communication skills in English by learning how to think in English and eliminating the habit of literal translation from Japanese to English when speaking English.
The content is also designed to provide support for university counters and international students.
