【For High School Teachers】”The 3rd Kyoto High School Teacher Exchange Meeting” September 12 (Thu) Call for Participants

The Kyoto High School Teacher Exchange Meeting was launched in 2018 as a place for students to exchange ideas and concerns about school and homeroom management, class improvement, etc., and to share their thoughts on solutions.
The third meeting will be held as follows. Each session is a one-off event, so you can participate regardless of whether you have participated in the event so far.
In the third session, we will focus on the “reform of university entrance examinations” (entrance examination reform related to the selection of students for admission in 2021), which many high school teachers are currently interested in, and discuss the status of each school’s efforts to introduce the Common Test for University Entrance Examinations and change the format of the survey based on the “Notice of Revision of the Guidelines for Conducting University Entrance Examinations for the Heisei 33 Academic Year” notified by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology last fall. In addition, university faculty members will join us to exchange information and exchanges.

Upcoming Exhibitions

The next and fourth meetings are scheduled to be held in November under the theme of “Exchange of Candidate Exploration Themes for the Exploration of Science and Mathematics.”
In addition, the fifth meeting is scheduled to be held around the end of February 2020 under the theme of “Gathering for class experience and exchange of opinions to acquire problem-finding skills.”

【Report】The 16th High School-University Collaborative Education Forum has been released.

On Saturday, December 8, 2018, the 16th Forum on Collaborative High School-University Education, “Thinking Together about the Skills That Should Be Developed Now II: The Role of High Schools and Universities: ~The Next Course of Study for High Schools and the Essence of the High School-University Connection~” has been completed. “2018 High School and University Collaboration Future Session” was held!

On Saturday, November 3, 2018, the 2018 High School and University Collaboration Future Session was held at Campus Plaza Kyoto.

This Future Session is held as a joint high school-university career education program with the aim of promoting career development for high school and university students, and this is the third time this year.
This year, a total of 41 high school and university students participated.

This time, we invited two role models: Mr. Ryo Tsukamoto, CEO of GL Academia Co., Ltd., and Ms. Rika Yajima, Representative Director of Wareru Co., Ltd.
Under the theme of “How to connect work and learning?”, he talked about “what was important to me when thinking about my career path after graduating from high school and university” and “what only humans can do with the rapid development of AI technology”.

　

 

In the group work after the role model talk, each group exchanged opinions and thought about questions for the role model.
The questions asked, “Are there any gaps or discrepancies between your dreams when you were a student and your dreams now?” and “How did you overcome your parents’ opposition?” “Would it be better to overcome what you can’t do now, or would you rather develop what you can do?” The participants actively raised their hands, and the two role models answered them carefully one by one, saying, “All the questions I want to answer.”

The Q&A session and the overall summary were displayed in text on the screen, and all participants were able to share information and deepen their understanding.
Participants asked questions such as “What is learning?” and “What is work?” “What is the relationship between learning and working?” was summarized in a worksheet, discussed and presented in groups.

By exchanging opinions across generations of high school and university students, it was a good opportunity to be stimulated about future learning and career choices, such as “learning and work are connected,” “knowing yourself first,” and “thinking about what I should do in the future to create my own axis and trunk.” In addition, I was able to interact with students from other schools and universities that I do not usually meet face-to-face.

For Mr./Ms., are “working” and “learning” completely different? Without a clear vision of your future vision and purpose, you may be choosing a career path such as getting a job at a well-known company, and for that reason, applying to a famous university with a higher deviation value.
In this Future Session, we would like to invite people who have thought about their own future and carved out their own path as role models, and we would like to think together across generations under the theme of “How to connect work and learning?”
We hope that by coming into contact with diverse values, you will broaden your horizons and make use of them in your future studies and career choices.
In addition, in anticipation of future technological innovation, we will hold a meeting in Kyoto City and the northern part of the prefecture on the same day, and share role model talks and summary time online.

Rika Yajima (Representative Director, Waeru Co., Ltd.)
Born in Tokyo in 1988.
Graduated from Keio University Faculty of Law and Keio University Graduate School of Media and Governance.
Fascinated by artisans and tradition, he began traveling around the country at the age of 19, and began working to disseminate information on Japan’s traditional culture and industry during his university years. With the desire to “pass on the traditions of Japan to the next generation,” he founded Waeru Co., Ltd. in March 2011, when he was in his fourth year of university. In March 2012, in order to create an environment where people can come into contact with the handiwork of craftsmen from an early age, he launched “AERU”, a traditional brand for 0 to 6 year olds, and created original products together with craftsmen from all over Japan. Starting with an online directly managed store, in 2014 he opened a directly managed store “AERU MEGURO” in Tokyo, and in 2015 he opened a directly managed store in Kyoto “AERU GOJO”. We are developing various businesses such as “aeru room” and “aeru oatsurae” to connect to the next generation while utilizing the traditions of Japan and the wisdom of our ancestors in our daily lives.
Ryo Tsukamoto (CEO, GL Academia Co., Ltd.)
CEO of GL Academia Corporation. Education professional, interpreter and translator.
He holds a Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Cambridge.
Graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Doshisha University from a problem child with a deviation value of 30 and on the verge of dropping out. After that, he studied psychology at Cambridge, and after returning to Japan, he established an English conversation school, GL Academia, in Kyoto. His teaching methods, which make use of his knowledge of psychology and his own learning experience, have attracted attention, and he has been inundated with requests for guidance from Japan and abroad. More than 100 Japan students, from working adults, have been admitted to top universities and graduate schools overseas, including the University of Cambridge and the University of London.
He is the author of 11 books, including “Life-Changing Studies for Cambridge Graduates Even with a Deviation of 30,” “The Habits of ‘People Who Do It Quickly’ and ‘Those Who Can’t’,” and “Efforts Continue on Their Own.”

The Kyoto High School-University Collaborative Research Council (Kyoto Prefectural Board of Education, Kyoto City Board of Education, Kyoto Prefectural Federation of Private Junior and Senior High Schools, Kyoto Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and University Consortium Kyoto) holds the “High School-University Collaborative Education Forum” in early December every year to consider collaboration and connections between high schools and universities.

Therefore, we have decided to hold the “Kyoto High School Teacher Exchange Meeting” in the hope that it will be an opportunity to exchange ideas and concerns about school and homeroom management, class improvement, etc., and to share thoughts on solutions, regardless of school or installer.

Therefore, we will hold the 1st Kyoto High School Teacher Exchange Meeting as follows. This time, we are using this as an opportunity to think about “learning evaluation”, which is of great interest. 【Saturday, February 24】Implementation of “High School-University Collaboration Future Session”

On Saturday, February 24, 2018, the “High School-University Collaboration Future Session” will be held as scheduled.

In addition, if the situation changes due to changes in the weather in the future, we will respond as follows, so please check it.

■ Response in case of stormy weather

(1) As of 8:00 a.m. (Note 1), all employees will be quarantined at home in any of the following cases (1) ~ (2).
(1) Fukuchiyama City (Note 2) has “Storm Warning”, “Storm Warning”, “Special Warning” (hereinafter referred to as “Warning”). In the event that any of the following is issued:
(2) JR, Kyoto Tango Railway, and Kyoto Kotsu Bus that connect to Fukuchiyama Station are all out of service.
* If any of the warnings are issued to municipalities other than Fukuchiyama City, participants in the relevant area will be required to stay at home.

(2) In the case of (1) above, if each alert is canceled by 11:00 a.m. (Note 1), it will be implemented from 1:00 p.m.

(3) In the case of (1) above, if each alert is not canceled by 11:00 a.m. (Note 1), it will be canceled.

(4) We will continue to collect information even after the start of the High School-University Collaboration Future Session, and if a warning is issued and a dangerous situation occurs, we will take appropriate measures at that time.

(5) Announcements of implementation and cancellation will be made in the “Important Notices” section of the top page of the University Consortium Kyoto website as follows.
(1) As of 8:00 a.m., we will inform you whether or not the event will be held as scheduled.
(2) In the case of (1) above, we will inform you after 11:00 a.m. whether or not it will be held from 1:00 p.m.
