FY2024

Business overview

The high school curriculum guidelines (March 2009) now include a description of “career education,” and there is a demand for the development of career and vocational education aimed at social and professional independence from primary and secondary education to higher education. In response, the Kyoto High School-University Collaboration Research Council began a “career education” project in 2012 with the aim of stimulating high school students’ motivation to learn for the future and contributing to the promotion of career education at each school.

Takadaisha Collaborative Future Session

The program aims to promote the career development of high school and university students, and involves dialogue and exchange on set themes across generations and schools, including high school students, university students, and working adults.

Event Overview

Brushing up current research into future research ~Exploring beyond generations and schools!~

Have you ever thought about how what you learn in high school will connect to your future career?

In this Future Session, university and high school teachers and coordinators who regularly accompany students in “inquiry” learning will talk about how inquiry learning can be applied to entering university and choosing a career. Please join us
as it is an opportunity to not only brush up on your inquiry skills, but also to deepen your own thoughts on “inquiry and career,” and to interact and exchange opinions across generations and schools, including high school students, university students, and working adults.

[For high school teachers] This event aims to achieve the following:
・Find a theme you would like to tackle in inquiry-based learning!
・Refine your inquiry-based learning themes and research questions!
・Connect inquiry-based learning with your career!

Let’s broaden our horizons by listening to the opinions and thoughts of people from various backgrounds!

Implementation Report

This year’s event was held on Sunday, December 22nd at Aya Terrace Hall in Ayabe City, northern Kyoto Prefecture, and attracted 11 high school students, 15 university students, and 8 high school teachers.
Following on from last year, the event was held in an interactive world cafe format, with facilitators, coordinators, and observers each providing topics from their own perspectives. This year, not only high school and university students but also high school teachers participated, providing an opportunity to deeply consider “inquiry and careers.”
Participant survey results showed extremely high satisfaction with the overall initiative, with 100% responding with “satisfied” or “somewhat satisfied.” Comments such as “I was able to brush up on my inquiry, which will connect to the future,” and “I was able to deepen my insight into inquiry and my future career, and gain a new perspective on my own inquiry” suggest that each participant gained new insights and discoveries, making it a meaningful experience that led to their own personal growth.
