FY2019

In 2019, the name of the program was changed to the SD Joint Training Program.

Business Overview

With the increasing sophistication and complexity of education and research at higher education institutions, SD will be mandatory from 2017, and it is hoped that faculty and staff will further improve their qualifications and promote collaboration between the teaching profession.
In addition, the environment surrounding higher education institutions is changing rapidly, and university staff are required to acquire a wide range of knowledge and a high level of expertise.
The SD Joint Training Program is a project aimed at reducing costs at each member university by taking advantage of economies of scale with the aim of improving the skills of staff and improving the efficiency and sophistication of university operations.
Please use it as an opportunity to exchange information and build networks across universities.

Business etiquette

Business etiquette is an indispensable basis for working adults and university faculty members. However, as we get used to our work, we tend to neglect and become selfish. We will carefully review business etiquette, which is often ambiguous.
In addition, business etiquette begins with treating others with compassion and being considerate and attentive. Through business etiquette, you will learn how to communicate in a way that can be used in your current work, from young people to veterans.

【Aim of the Training】

2) Learn how to receive requests to enhance team collaboration and how to practice telecommunication

Assertiveness (self-expression) ~ Convey your thoughts properly based on the various positions of others ~

Assertiveness is a form of self-expression that is valued by both you and the other person.
Most of people’s worries and troubles arise from human relationships.
In particular, when interacting with a variety of people, including parents and students with different positions and ways of thinking, as well as university faculty and staff, it is easy to unconsciously express oneself in a way that is not assertive. Your thoughts may or may not be approved by the other person, and conversely, you may or may not agree to the other person’s request. There, there may be temporary conflicts.
In this training, you will learn the importance and methods of building a good relationship with the other person through discussions that incorporate assertiveness.

Improvement of problem-solving skills

In the course of our work, there are many situations where a “problem” is discovered, a response is considered, and a response is taken to solve it. However, are we, the university staff, able to solve all the “problems” that we deal with on a daily basis? There are situations where various kinds of “problems” are being talked about and discussed here and there, such as “problems” for which there is no solution, and for which we do not know whether they are “problems” in the first place.
In this training, we aim to confirm the “problem-solving” that university staff should do as part of their work, and to acquire methods for examining problems, which is the first step.

Leadership and Workplace Revitalization

In this training, mid-level employees, such as those who will become or have become leaders in the workplace, will think about leadership in the workplace (section, section, section, etc.) of the university to which they belong, and aim to understand the necessary actions as a leader.
It is important for leaders to know themselves, to know others, and to know us (our organization). Therefore, I would like to learn from the participants through experience exchange with each other about (1) understanding the characteristics of the university organization, (2) utilizing the beliefs, principles, strengths, and characteristics of individuals and organizations, (3) linking mission and vision with individual operations, (4) developing human resources through work, and (5) personal growth.

Support for learning activities outside of the regular curriculum by administrative staff ~What you can do with Learning Commons~

Universities are required to be institutional institutions for student development as a whole, and various departments at each university provide support for extracurricular learning activities in their own forms. We would like to provide an opportunity for participants to reflect on the efforts of their own universities and learn about examples from other universities, and to think about what kind of team education and administrative staff can create.

IR Training “Super Introductory Edition”

IR (Institutional Research) is an important activity that supports universities through data collection and analysis, but it is often thought of as a difficult task that only specialists who are proficient in mathematics and statistics do. In this training, I would like to think about IR as “super” easy and talk about how “anyone can become an IRer”.
If you are interested in IR, if you want to use numbers and charts to improve your daily work, or if you are not good at mathematics or statistics, let’s study together.
