University Consortium Kyoto’s industry-university collaborative education program is positioned as a part of university learning, and aims to “stimulate the desire to learn”, “cultivate a high sense of professionalism”, and “develop human resources with independence and originality” through the fusion of practical experience and educational research. This educational program was launched in 1998, ahead of other countries in the country. We provide not only simple work experience, but also career education with a curriculum that fosters basic skills for working adults by thinking about “work” from a practical perspective.

Course description

Externship (work experience) course (former business course/public course)

This is a course in which students conduct training for at least two weeks (10 working days) at a company, government agency, or non-profit organization from August to mid-September.

Through a structured learning program consisting of [pre-learning] → [practical training] → [post-learning], students deepen their understanding of the real world, acquire social skills and a view of work, and learn how to deal with issues in student life after the practical training. The aim is to organize and clarify goals. For pre- and post-study, business classes are organized by industry/industry, and public classes are organized by government/non-profit organization, allowing students to conduct industry research, exchange hands-on experience, and have discussions with students from other universities. , toward achieving the goal.

Project planning practice course (formerly long-term project course)

This is a five-month course from mid-June to late November in which students work on themes and projects presented by companies, government agencies, and non-profit organizations.

Through the project, the goal is to acquire the ability to look at the real world from various angles, grasp the current situation, discover issues, and solve those issues. This is a program in which trainees carry out results-oriented activities in line with the project theme (issue) presented to the trainees by the accepting company/organization.
