Details of the symposium can be found here.

Can new models be created for university education, research, and social contribution?
〜Based on the experience of COVID-19, envisioning leaders in an AI-enabled and robotized world〜
Capacity: 1,000 (Priority capacity of member schools: 600)
In the 2020 academic year, due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the management of classes for the new semester was prepared by individual faculty members groping and devising ways based on the organizational judgment of the department. The beginning of this can be seen in the Facebook group "A group to share wisdom and information about what university faculty members should do and what they want to do in response to the impact of the new coronavirus" (renamed from "Group to share wisdom and information on what university faculty should do in response to the coronavirus cancellation" on October 9), which has more than 20,000 members.

Therefore, in this symposium, based on the experience of COVID-19, we will explore the existence and role of universities in the era of population decline, globalization, and VUCA. One year after the Corona disaster, we would like to confirm how collective intelligence through SNS has worked, and use this as an opportunity to explore new literacy in and for universities.

Implementation Report

26th FD Forum Report Collection 【Click here for details】

For four days on February 20 (Sat), 21 (Sun), 27 (Sat), and 28 (Sun), 2021, the 26th FD Forum "What is a university again ~Beyond the Corona disaster and into a new era~" was held online using Zoom.
The FD Forum organized by the University Consortium Kyoto has been held since 1995 with the aim of improving the quality of higher education and disseminating information on FD activities from Kyoto, and this year marks the 26th time.
This time, in the unprecedented situation of the spread of the new coronavirus infection, we have once again questioned the ideal state of "university" and set the overall theme of "What is a university ~Beyond the coronavirus disaster to a new era~" so that it will be an opportunity to think about the "university" of the next era.
On the first day, we held a symposium, poster session, and information exchange meeting, and on the second ~ fourth day, we held 11 subcommittees on various themes.
A total of 693 university faculty members and educators from all over Japan gathered to share reports and practices on research results on improving education, and to engage in lively discussions.
At the symposium on the first day, "Can a new model be born for university education, research, and social contribution?~Envisioning leaders in an AI-enabled and robotized world based on the experience of COVID-19~" were presented by Mr. Yoshihiro Okamoto (Professor, Faculty of Law, Kwansei Gakuin University), Mr. Koichi Sugimori (Division of Higher Education Development and Support, Institute of International Core Education, Kanazawa University) Associate Professor) (Coordinator: Mr. Hironori Yamaguchi (Professor, Ritsumeikan University Institute for the Promotion of Common Education)).
