theme Waseda Vision 150: The challenge of university education reform
overview Professor Takahiro Ohno, who is in charge of managing the numbers for “Waseda Vision 150,” which was established based on the idea of ​​what kind of university Waseda should be and the philosophy of the university’s founder, Shigenobu Okuma, will give a lecture. He will talk about the issues raised when formulating the vision, how a plan with clear numerical targets is being promoted, the efforts being made to achieve the goals, and how they are being evaluated, as well as the role and points to note of top management in realizing the vision.
Teacher Takahiro Ohno

After graduating from the School of Science and Engineering, Waseda University in 1978, he completed his doctoral studies at the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Waseda University in 1986, and obtained his PhD in Engineering (Waseda University) in 1988. He
was appointed as an assistant professor in the Department of Industrial Management, School of Science and Engineering, Waseda University in 1984, and became a professor in 1994, director of the Center for International Studies in 2005, director of the Postdoctoral Career Center in August 2006, director of the International Department in 2006, director of the Academic Affairs Department in 2010, and has held his current position since 2014. He
is currently a member of the Waseda University Board of Directors (in charge of Information Promotion and Business Planning), and serves as a specialist member of the Central Council for Education (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology), a member of the Special Skills Examination Committee (Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare), a specialist investigator for vocational ability development (Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare), and a member of the Small and Medium Enterprise Management Consultant Examination Committee (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry).
His main publications include Introduction to Multivariate Analysis (Doyukan), Beginner’s Guide to Profit and Loss Statements (Kankishuppan), Corporate Behavior and Management (Chuo Keizaisha), Special Skills Test for Managers and Supervisors (Occupational Efficiency Development Association), and Labor Management (Sanno Junior College).
His specialties are profit design research, development of strategic decision-making tools, and development of business decision-making tools.

On Saturday, June 20, 2015, the University Consortium Kyoto held the "2015 Kyoto FD Executive School."

We welcomed 31 participants, mainly from the university executive committee, including the presidents of the 50 member universities, and Dr. Takahiro Ohno of Waseda University gave a lecture titled "The Challenge of University Education Reform through Waseda Vision 150." The lecture was very specific and thought-provoking, from the transition and formulation process of the medium- to long-term plan until the creation of Waseda Vision 150, to the keys and main issues of realizing Waseda Vision 150, and although the lecture was given in a limited time after the general meeting of the consortium, many participants said that they would have liked to hear it more closely.

In the post-questionnaire from the participants, "It was highly specific and informational," and "I learned the importance of creating a vision for 20 years from now and setting numerical targets, as well as the system and methods of initiatives." Comments such as "I was able to think about the current situation of my own university from the situation at Waseda University" were received.
