New Educational Travel Program Kyoto B&S Program

Overview of the business

This is an educational travel program jointly implemented with the Kyoto Tourism Promotion Council (Secretariat: Kyoto City) and JTB Kyoto Branch Co., Ltd.
For students on school trips and field trips to Kyoto, university students studying in Kyoto act as guides and interact like brothers and sisters (Brother & Sister) while walking around sightseeing spots and university campuses together, directly introducing the charms of Kyoto.

In a questionnaire survey of university students enrolled at universities in Kyoto, about one in two junior high and high school students answered that it had an impact on their university entrance exams when they were asked whether the experience of visiting Kyoto on school trips or field trips had an impact on their university entrance exams. Based on these results, it is expected that visiting Kyoto while junior high and high school students are not only able to see sightseeing spots, but also to have direct contact with "university students" who are close in age and to visit universities and be stimulated by visiting them will be a valuable opportunity to think about their future careers.

Based on the results of a survey conducted in 2012 by the 2012 research theme "Analysis of the Impact of School Trip Destinations on University Admission and Measures to Disseminate the Attractiveness of Universities" (Principal Investigator: Associate Professor Manabu Inoue, Faculty of International Tourism Studies, Heian Jogakuin University)
