On February 28 (Sat) and March 1 (Sun), "The 20th FD Forum: Questioning Learning Support ~What and What Should Be Done and to What Extent~" was held at Doshisha University Imadegawa Campus.
Several years have passed since the "Qualitative transformation of the bachelor's curriculum is, so to speak, an issue that cannot wait" in the "Toward a University that Continues to Learn Throughout Life and Cultivates the Ability to Think Independently in Times of Difficult Prediction" (March 26, 24), but based on the current situation where universities in various parts of the Japan are still striving to build systematic curricula and further improve learning support environments, Under the theme of re-questioning learning support, 938 people from 301 universities and institutions nationwide participated in the event.
On the first day of the symposium, under the theme of "Questioning Learning Support ~For What and to What Should Be Done~", various programs were held, including case studies, redefinition of learning support, floor discussions, and panel discussions.
On the second day, 14 subcommittees were held on various themes surrounding university education, such as "Flipped Classroom," "Active Learning," "Career Education," "Student FD and University Management," and "Support for Students with Disabilities," and reported on practical cases in the field and exchanged opinions with participants. The "Poster Session" held at the same time, which exhibited a total of 22 "educational practice cases" from 15 member schools of the Consortium, and the "Company Booth" held for the first time were very successful, and there were many questions and impressions from the participants, and there were scenes of active exchange.
Participants requested a forum with themes such as "first-year education," "assurance of quality of education," and "FD collaboration with university staff" as future projects. Following the re-examination of FD questions at the 20th meeting, expectations for the next 21st edition are also increasing.
